HI! This is my very first entry here. I'm new to LiveJournal, and I've sucessfully customized my Smooth Sailing theme, but still I'm somewhat lost. There are some things I need to know

To place links in your sidebar, go to the Customize page, and under the "Basics" tag, click on the "your link list" link. That will take you to a page where you can add links. It should automatically show up in your sidebar. As a Basic user I think the limit to the number of links you can add is 10.
To add a biography in your sidebar, again go to the Customize page, and click on the "Custom Options" tab. In there you can chose specific settings for many things. Click on the "Sidebar" tab, and scroll down until you see the free text options. You can use the free text options to enter whatever text you want to show in the sidebar. Unfortunately you can't use HTML at all - it must be plain text. Remember to set the Position to where you want the biography to show up or the box won't appear. Press the "Save" button at the bottom of the page when you're done

Comment links and your question about sidebar links and short biography: That is controlled in your "Manage" page under the "Custom Options" tab. Some more tabs / links will come up below, and one is labelled Sidebar... you can control both there.
Tags, Music, Mood: Have you checked your settings on your customize page? There's a part there to have your Meta data set each on a seperate line or all on one line. As for caps I don't know... someone else will be able to help you on that. :)
