ETA: all good, thanks to
fuzzface00 I'm pretty sure the same code for generating random userpics in a free text (or profile?) box from Component would work in SmoothSailing, so I tracked down the
entry on that. However, there's part of the directions I don't understand (that isn't specific to Component, I'm sure). It's the part about "loading up your userpics to a page" -- basically, so that each userpic has its own URL. I did make a comment to that entry last night, but the post itself is from 2004, if I remember correctly, so I'm kind of not expecting an answer.
Does anyone know how to do this? And if someone wants to confirm that yes, this code will work in SmoothSailing, of course, that would be kind, too. I'm assuming I can just put it in a free text box (w/ HTML, of course). If I'm assuming too much, please disabuse me of that notion :)
Basically, I just want to have the sidebar scroll through some of my userpics each time someone clicks refresh or comes back to my journal. I'm pretty sure that code will work, if I can just get the URL of each of the userpics I want (w/out going back to photobucket, etc.).
Thanks in advance for your help!
Last: I just read the description on the profile of this community, and realized that MasterSlacker *made* SmoothSailing! So kudos to you -- I LOVE it! It took me about an eighth of the amount of time to do some of the stuff I wanted to as opposed to my old Component layout. Thanks -- I love it, and I've found that my new layout brings me back here more often, as it's so cool :) (I'm currently "green" for March, but will change to something with outlines after this month). Anyway, just wanted to say thanks -- I love SS!
edited to add that I'm an idiot, as I just saw who posted that entry I referenced. . ..
