Expand...

I am wondering if there is a way to get the "expand" link in the linkbar on comments. It's there beside individual comments alright, but not beside the "reply", "thread" section in the first comment of a thread (the way it is on the default comments page).
I've tried to add/edit the code from the original SS source code but nothing happens - no errors or anything, but nothing happens. I can't see that I have overridden it anywhere.
