Can you make your layer public? I think I have an idea for the use count thing, but have to play with the code first

Lol, I'm sorry I'm a noob at this.

You mean this one and this one?

the first link is missing this line: layerinfo source_viewable = 1;

that's what makes the layer public (If you don't add the line I can't see it)

so, here you go:

don't forget to set the visibility of the tags sidebox to a number again

So, two ways this is possible. I stle the first one from a bloggish tutorial (wich was stolen from a expressive one, wich was "borrowed" from flexible Squares one)..., the second one is a modified version of what you had. Anyway I'll post both ways at babytest in a minute

did you figure it out? Do you need me to tell you which line in your userlayer has to be changed to make it work?

Sorry for the late reply, I was busy the whole day. Can you please be more specific about what to change exactly?

in your userlayer: http://www.livejournal.com/customize/advanced/layerbrowse.bml?id=9013538 or in your case: http://www.livejournal.com/customize/advanced/layeredit.bml?id=9013538
scoll down to the bottom and change set layout_sidebox_tags_visibility = "hide";
to set layout_sidebox_tags_visibility = "4";

and at the top find set layout_sidebox_freetext_2_visibility = "4"; and change it to set layout_sidebox_freetext_2_visibility = "hide";

that will hide the freetext2 box and make the tags box appear

I did it but the tags appear the old way now.

(So sorry for the trouble! >____<)

remove the whole function Page::lay_print_sidebar_freetextbox_2() from your theme layer, or better, copy the codes I'll give you now and overwrite what you have:
userlayer
themelayer

I'm sorry, I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I'm doing it anyway.

I removed my codes and copy-pasted what you gave me but I don't think anything changed. :(

did you check if the codes are still attached to the style: http://www.livejournal.com/customize/advanced/styles.bml ?
