Separate day from date and time

I am so confused. I've been trying to figure this out since last night and can't.

I want to have my day of the week on a separate line but keep the date and time together like in carbyville's journal and I can't get it to work

Play with this override by kunzite1; you'll have to apply css to .date_day and .date_dateattime to get the exact look/orientation/positioning you want.

Oh, and just replace @ in the code with the separator.
