SOLVED TBH: Wider & fluid/centered layout?

Jan 28, 2011 22:22

Hi, I'm trying to get my journal to have a total width of 98%, centered, with a sidebar of 275 px and the rest of the entries taking up whatever the browser width is. The problem is that as much as I've looked at Expressive Explained and the CSS diagram image and tried various ids and class, I just can't get it to work. I've also looked at this entry but I'm hoping someone's figured out a way to do this since.

* Provide as much information as possible, including your account type, browser type and version, the theme you're using, etc.

I'm using a Plus account on the latest version of Firefox. I'm currently using Bloom Orange but I swear I'll use any version of Expressive if it can get me what I want (I've also tried this on various versions of Expressive).

* Link to the journal you need help modifying. (this is important if it's a different journal than the username you're posting with)

* Include any custom CSS you have under an LJ-cut and leave a link to your theme layer if applicable (make sure it's viewable).

I haven't been able to find any CSS that works I'm afraid. I've tried adjusting #container, #page, #content, #alpha, and #beta, plus all the "inner" divs but nothing's worked.

Sometimes when I adjust it, the sidebar ends up way to the left with tons of space between it and the entries, or it ends up under the entries completely.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

sidebar:size, $acct level:basic or plus, page:size, sidebar:placement
