Help, Flexible #Alpha (3 column,Content Middle)

Jan 05, 2008 05:44

I've been browsing this community for a couple hours now while I try to figure out various things. It has been a big help.

However, there is one thing that is stumping me. I can't seem to enlarge #content or #alpha no matter what I do.

This post taught me how to successfully build a new theme layer that should have done the trick, but it wouldn't allow me to choose a 3 column page setup - the only option available was the one column. Unless there is some way to change this within the CSS that I am missing.

I would love to be able to have the #beta #alpha #gamma setup with a flexible #alpha column.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

#gamma position:absolute right side (perfect)

#beta no alterations

#alpha position:relative (setting to absolute hides #beta column)
#alpha width: ??? no value changes the appearance

.asset, .asset-content width can be set to a px value that exceeds #alpha, %value will not exceed #alpha (obviously does not yield flexible width)

Other Issues:
right aligning meta-comments and not date
show lj-currents even if no data present

entries:metadata, page:size
