xbabochanx! Happy (belated) birthday! Hope you like this :) Thought it was a little awful but I guess it’s okay? :P
Kevin Woo has a new obsession. He is obsessed, with a colour.
That is technically wrong, because it is not exactly just one colour.
He is officially obsessed with the colour, rainbow.
When, where, who, why, what and how, none of the members knew. They could only hope it wouldn’t last long. But of course, if things could go according to as the members wished, Kevin wouldn’t be Kevin. Due to this fact, the only option would be to send Kevin to bother Kibum instead. Better Kibum than themselves.
And so, the very first target of Kevin’s new obsession became his very own boyfriend, sporting a rainbow wig.
Soohyun really tried not to laugh.
“Why do I have to wear this ridiculous thing?!” Kibum groaned, angrily glaring at the rest of the members for laughing at him. They immediately shut up, acting as if they hadn’t been laughing at their leader-like member.
“Hyung~!” Kevin smiled sweetly, kissing his older boyfriend gently. “Please? It’s pretty on you!”
There was some snickering heard.
Kibum turned around and frowned, instantly getting the crowd to return to their respective rooms.
“Let’s take a picture together!” Kevin suggested, landing his bottom on Kibum’s lap. He leaned back and found himself comfortably in Kibum’s arms, smiling widely at his handphone’s camera. Kibum rested his chin on the younger’s shoulder and made an annoyed face, turning it into a grin when Kevin checked his expression.
After a click, Kevin checked the picture and pouted cutely at Kibum. “Kibummie-hyung!”
“Fans like that, I promise.” Kibum shrugged.
“Okay, that’s for Twitter. Let’s take one for my rainbow collection.” Kevin bit his lower lip and turned to Kibum with expectant eyes.
Kibum sighed, unable to protest against those pleading eyes, kissing Kevin’s cheek as his way of agreeing. Kevin bounced happily and took at least six pictures, including one with the both of them kissing with their lips purposely pushed out.
Kibum knew he was being watched by five idiots, but one Kevin being happy beats five idiots teasing him. He knew ways to deal with them, anyway.
-
“How cute!” Kevin squealed, looking at a transparent bag of five cupcakes. There were hundreds of such bags made by his fanclub, which would each be given to the people attending Kevin's musical.
Kibum chuckled at Kevin, whose eyes were widened in awe as he admired the colourful heart-shaped chocolate on the surface of the icing on the cupcakes.
“Hyung! Can we bake cupcakes like these too?” Kevin asked hopefully.
“Kevin, you should be practising your lines.” Kibum tried to divert the younger's attention with a smile and a wave of his musical script.
“We've been performing for so long already.” Kevin pouted. “Hyunggg! Rainbow cupcakes!”
With a sigh, Kibum reluctantly nodded. “Fine, fine, but I'll just be watching.”
“Then you'll be drawing designs of new merchandises and not pay attention to me!” Kevin whined and tugged Kibum's arm while pushing out his lips sadly.
“Okay, I'll do it with you.” Kibum kissed away the pout and smiled, stroking Kevin's hair. “Are you hungry? Bite the cupcake if you are.”
“Yay! Yep, I'm kinda hungry! I'll take a picture of it to thank the fans first.” Kevin decided. “And I'll tweet that you came to support me!”
“Say that later, after the performance. Don't want fans coming here for the wrong reasons.” Kibum shook his head, offering to take a picture of Kevin adorably posing with the colourfully decorated cupcakes.
Kevin got addicted with taking selcas, even rearranging the coloured heart-shaped chocolates on the respective icings to blend the colour and use seven such cupcakes to form his favourite colour. Kibum joined Kevin in the last three pictures, taking also a cheeky photo of both of them sinking their teeth into different sides of the same cupcake.
“Kevin-ah!” A staff called out, smiling to acknowledge the older U-KISS member of the two. “We've got to get ready.”
“All right.” Kevin reluctantly stood up, hesitating on leaving. “What's behind you, noona?”
Kevin took the quick second to sneak a kiss for Kibum, grinning widely when the staff turned back to say she didn't see anything.
“Oh, then forget it. I thought I saw Mr. Chance.” Kevin winked at Kibum, who chuckled knowingly.
-
“Why are we all here?” Kevin sulked, stomping in circles.
“It's a special performance.” Eli shrugged.
“But it's Valentine's!” Kevin cried. “I'll have to go for my last musical performance at night! Then-then, Kibummie-hyung!”
“It's fine, I’m fine.” Kibum sighed, having no control over their schedules.
“You can pair up!” Kiseop smiled, massaging Kevin's shoulders as if to ease the sadness.
“Oh! We get to pair up?” Kevin's face brightened slightly, before it fell again. “Kibummie-hyung wouldn't partner me...”
Alexander rolled his eyes and nudged Kibum. “Time for Kemaru moments, stop listening to stupid manager-hyung. Kevin deserves a Valentine's break.”
Soohyun shoved Kibum forward and the five members made a human barrier for the couple. “Kiss while you can.”
Kevin blushed as Kibum pecked his forehead and promised to pair up with the younger man. The five members snickered and broke the barrier, greeting the crew members that arrived. Kibum and Kevin did a greeting by themselves since they were unable to catch up with the five.
Recordings started at a carousel since the crew wanted a heart-warming starting scene. To fit the Valentine's day mood, the crew told the members to pair up, and the host can pair up with a member too. Kibum walked to Kevin's side and draped his arm over Kevin's shoulders, and the host joked that he was about to choose Kevin since he looked so much like a girl.
“That's why I chose him first.” Kibum replied with a smirk.
Alexander chose Kiseop while Soohyun stole Dongho, leaving Eli with the host.
“AHHHH!” Eli screamed, banging his head against everything he could see (including Kevin).
“Ouch!” Kevin sulked.
“He went crazy, he went crazy.” Kibum repeated happily. “Now, he’s going to transform into his true self!”
Eli stopped and did a Taekwondo kick, before squatting a little and making his signature pigeon face. “Why am I not chosen? Why am I not chosen?”
Dongho laughed and gave Eli a pat on the head (Eli would get revenge later, how dare he?), grinning. “Soohyun-hyung’s better than a pigeon, I’m sorry.”
The crew then stopped the crowd from going up the carousel, apologising as they had to do filming. Kevin then excitedly bounced on the platform before choosing a white unicorn, which he had some trouble getting on since it had been so long since he went on one. Kibum laughed at Kevin, raising him up and helping him sit comfortably on the unicorn. Fans that gathered squealed, soon screaming when Alexander and Kiseop waved at them. Soohyun broke out into a random love song for the couples present, and Eli thanked the fans for supporting (while shamelessly trying to get more followers on Twitter).
Kibum purposely fall forward from the slight jerk the carousel made for the camera, grabbing hold of the unicorn's horn by going around Kevin's body. He stayed that way and leaned against Kevin's smaller frame, resting his head on Kevin's shoulder.
It was an excuse for him to stay leaning so close to Kevin, and Kevin just sneakily leaned back a little, smiling as if for the camera when it was really to express his feelings.
They took a short break while the crew discussed the route they were going to take and confirming the games they were going to play.
Kevin skipped into one of the conversation as the other members stand around and waved a little to the fans. “Are we going to play any games? If we win those games, can I keep the prize?”
“Yes, you can.” The scriptwriter smiled kindly. “But just so you know, prizes aren’t easy to win. For the show, we’ll probably stage something and rent the prize for a day.”
Kevin ran to Kibum and told him, pouting cutely. “But I want to win a bear.”
“Bear?” Kibum raised his eyebrows. “You already got a prize in mind?”
“Yeah!” Kevin grinned. “I saw it when we were entering, will you win it for me?”
Kibum chuckled, ruffling Kevin’s hair. “What should my answer be if you ask so nicely?”
“Hey, lovebirds.” Dongho shuddered. “You’re in public.”
Kevin sulked at the sudden interruption while Kibum went after the youngest member, chasing him and making a crowd form around them, frantically capturing the moment. They stopped after Kevin jumped in and hugged Kibum’s waist, signalling for Dongho to seek shelter behind Soohyun or something.
(“MOMMY KEVIN IS SAVING BABY DONGHO FROM DADDY KIBUM!” A fangirl squeaked at the side.)
“Come on, boys.” The manager beckoned the group over, and the seven idols realised the whole crew were moving to the first station. They were to play darts and to get the most points as a team. If the team gets at least 200 points, they can choose a prize of their choice.
“There’s a bear!” Kevin squealed softly, triggering Alexander’s crazy antics.
“I’m a gummy bear, yes I’m a gummy bear~! Oh I’m a yummy tummy funny lucky gummy bear~!” Alexander sang excitedly.
“I’m a jelly bear, cause I’m a gummy bear, oh I’m a moving grooving jamming singing gummy bear!” Eli completed with fake enthusiasm before rolling his eyes. “How old are you?”
Alexander sulked and went to find comfort from his partner. Kiseop only laughed, not understanding what Alexander just sang.
Kibum pointed at the white human-size bear with a rainbow tie, eyes questioning. “That bear?”
“Yes, yes!” Kevin bounced around, already confident that Kibum could win the prize (though Kibum don’t play darts well and the last time he tried it, he was really average). “Please win it for me!”
“You have to play well too.” Kibum cleared his throat, feeling a really heavy burden on his shoulders.
The host took control and told them to go first since Kevin was so excited about the whole thing. Kevin offered to go first, insisting that Kibum would put up a good show and that should be broadcasted later.
Kevin wasn’t too bad a dart player himself (well, he didn’t miss the board), scoring 24, 13 and 18. He massaged Kibum’s shoulders and did an aegyo to cheer Kibum on (Soohyun suggested it, Kibum decided to thank him later).
Kibum then remembered his task. He had to win…over a hundred points. Apparently, only three bullseye can save his situation, and that was impossible for him. He kept the fact to himself and threw his first dart.
“60 points.” The person announced, which Kibum widened his eyes at. “It’s triple the score if you hit here.”
Kevin pounced on Kibum and hugged him tightly, squealing excitedly. “You’re so good! WAH! AWESOME KIBUMMIE-HYUNG! MY BEARRRR!”
Kibum smirked to keep his cool front, struggling a little from Kevin’s grasp due to the public’s eye. “Just watch me.”
Kevin faked a faint from the overflowing charisma Kibum was (currently) oozing, and then moving to bounce excitedly at the side while the rest of the U-KISS members tried to hold him down.
“Eighty five more points!” The staff encouraged, which Kibum thought was kind of depressing instead of encouraging.
Kibum blew out some air and shook his head, eyes squinting to focus. Kevin shuffled his feet a little from all the excitement, to which Kibum turned his head and shushed him. Kevin whimpered a little, but forgot it the next second when Kibum adjusted his position a little. The crowd also kept quiet, watching in anticipation.
Kibum threw it forward and sighed.
“36 points.”
Kibum groaned, his task getting more difficult. He wasted no time and asked for the last dart, to which the crew had two cameras, one on his either side to film. He sighed and threw the dart forward, closing his eyes and covering his ears right after that as if afraid of the outcome.
“OH EM GEE!” Kevin led the loud cheers, while all of U-KISS made moves to carry Kibum up and throw him into the air.
“What? Is it 200 points?” Kibum asked as he flew up into the air.
“I don’t know, my maths is horrible.” Dongho yelled. “But you got a bullseye, that’s so cool! Are you like a professional dart player but never dared tell us?!”
“Yah! Put me down!” Kibum shouted, getting thrown up continuously as if he was an object or something. Kevin jumped into his arms and laughed happily, but upon being questioned, he too, did not know if the numbers add up to two hundred points. “I thought you were all about the bear…”
“But my boyfriend was so cool!” Kevin whispered, giggling.
Kibum smirked though he was sure he was purely lucky, putting an arm around Kevin’s shoulders before questioning (again) if the points add up to two hundred points.
“Yes, it’s two hundred and one.” The stall owner nodded and applauded with a pretty smile, letting the couple choose the prize they want.
“The bear! The bear!”
“MOVING GROOVING JAMMING SINGING GUMMY-“
“Shut up, Xander-hyung!”
“…”
Kevin was handed the human-size bear, finally satisfied. The rest of the recordings ended up as a blur, since Kevin was playing with the bear and annoying Kibum with it.
(“Kibummie-hyung, what should we name it?”
“GUMMY BEAR!” An annoying voice sounded, and to Eli’s surprise, Dongho said it.)
-
It was a secret mission.
“Shh!” Kevin giggled, knowing that he didn’t actually heard a sound.
Kibum facepalmed himself. Why did he let himself be such an easy victim to Kevin’s craziness?
“Aw, don’t be such a party pooper.” Kevin grinned widely and adjusted Kibum’s rainbow wig. Yes, he wore it again. “Besides, you look cute.”
“Kevin, within the walls of our dormitory, I am fine. Why did we have to get out here?” Kibum groaned, which made Kevin quickly cover his mouth.
“I had a sudden rainbow idea~!” Kevin smiled a toothy smile, showing seven fingers. “Seven colours of the rainbow, seven days of the week!”
“Uh-huh…?”
“WHY DON’T WE HAVE RAINBOW COLOURED UNDERWEAR!” Kevin squealed, wasting no time in dragging Kibum into the underwear shop he had his eye on since yesterday.
“Are…you kidding…me?” Kibum’s eyes twitched, but Kevin was already picking out the seven colours in different designs for Kibum to choose. “Kev…”
“No, I’m not kidding you.” Kevin said seriously with puppy eyes. “Pretty please? See, I even cross-dressed for today’s event!”
“You do that on a daily basis, it’s not special.” Kibum rolled his eyes and sighed. “I’ll agree to rainbow t-shirts, but not underwear!”
“Please?” Kevin pressed a quick kiss on Kibum’s lips before kissing the older man two times more. “Pleaseee~?”
Kibum groaned and almost wanted to dig a hole and bury himself there.
“I’ll take that as a yes~!”
-
Kibum was knocked unconscious due to him making a big fuss out of the underwear choosing. Kevin quickly picked out fourteen so both Kevin and Kibum had seven colours each. He then paid for it and carried Kibum home.
“Wah, why did he faint?” Kiseop blinked and helped Kevin with his heavy load. The current Kevin was a girl and looked horrible trying to balance Kibum on his back. “You looked too pretty in that?”
“Silly, we went out together, he saw it already.” Kevin smiled faintly. “Help me get him to his bed?”
“All right.” Kiseop shrugged, getting a passing by Soohyun to help as they carried Kibum by his limbs to his bed.
Kevin thought Kibum was in pretty safe hands (well, Kibum might get hurt, but at least he won’t be touched), and turned to the kitchen to cheer Kibum up with food.
With a cute pout, he looked around the kitchen and searched for ingredients he could work with, arranging the things he found and coming up with a recipe. He grinned, starting work with the best idea he thought of.
Kevin hummed a tune Kibum and his brother recently came up with, smiling as he cracked three eggs and got them into a bowl. He threw the properly cracked egg shells into a small plastic bag before mixing the three eggs well.
He then oiled the pan and lighted the gas stove, before heating the pan above the fire. After he was satisfied with the crackling sounds the oil made, he poured the egg mixture slowly into the pan and got a spatula to pat the mixture evenly.
Alexander poked a nosy nose into the business and demanded for an egg too, to which Kevin cheekily passed him a raw egg in a bowl. Alexander sulked and pushed him back before the frying pan, probably off to complain to whoever else was in the dormitory (because Kiseop would just laugh at him and Soohyun would sing louder than his complain to drown his words out).
Kevin then flipped the egg in the pan, patting the egg lightly again. He placed the cooked egg fry on a plate and folded it into half, happily taking it with a bottle of ketchup in his hand into their shared room.
"Kibummie-hyung!" Kevin whined cutely and placed the items in his hands onto the side table before jumping on his boyfriend. "Wake up, sweetie!"
"Is this a dream or was that a dream?" Kibum groggily asked.
Kevin assumed Kibum was referring to the rainbow underwear issue, guiltily biting his lip. "Both aren't a dream..."
Kibum fainted again.
Almost.
“Hyung! I made you egg fry!” Kevin sulked, tugging Kibum harder. “Come on, don’t you want to eat what I made specially for you?”
“Egg fry is a name for eggs made by me.” Kibum replied, groaning as he sat up. “Don’t steal the name.”
“Well, this is made by me for you, same difference.” Kevin stuck out his tongue and kissed Kibum quickly. “Come here, I’ll feed you.”
Kibum raised an eyebrow as Kevin shifted himself to sit up against the bed’s headboard, making Kibum lay between his lap on his chest. He then picked the plate and the bottle of ketchup, grinning. “What do you want me to write on the fried egg? With the ketchup?”
“Kev-chup?” Kibum laughed. “What’s that?”
“Hey, I know you love me a lot, but I clearly said ketchup.” Kevin pouted. “Or are you making fun of my lisp again!”
Kibum snickered at Kevin’s reaction but lay peacefully against Kevin’s body, making Kevin draw whatever he was thinking of that moment.
Kevin’s cheek reddened as he wrote in English, words becoming hard to read since he couldn’t control the bottle well. He tried to squeeze all the words in, smiling when his work is done.
“What does that say?”
“I hate you forever and ever!” Kevin grinned. “Unless you promise to wear the rainbow underwear.”
Kibum took the plate and placed it on the side table swiftly, tickling Kevin endlessly. The two ended up fooling around on the bed, even rolling across the bed and colliding into the headboard. Kevin giggled as he tried to wiggle out, but the childish actions only stopped after they got worn out.
“Are you hungry now?” Kevin chuckled, messing up Kibum’s hair lovingly. “I still won’t tell you what I wrote though!”
“Silly Kevin.” Kibum rolled his eyes before giving the younger man his signature smirk. “Will I not know how to read our names, and that undeniable heart shape in the middle?”
Kevin blushed as he looked at the egg, no longer fresh from the pan. He smiled when Kibum pinned him against the headboard and kissed him hungrily, the two just foolishly smiling at each other after Kibum pulled away.
“Kevinnie <3 Kibummie!” The words on the fried egg read, forgotten by the couple as Kibum pushed Kevin down on the bed and filled his rainbow-coloured room with love.
