Let me tell you the short version of the story of our move in pictures:

We couldn't afford a Uhaul, so we stuffed as much as possible in our cars and sold the rest in a yard sale. I was scared to death of how overloaded my truck was, but God gave us 2 rainbows to promise we'd get to ND alive. This was taken from my grandparents house on our final night in Boise.

We made it to Dillon, MT before my truck started making grinding noises and we had to pull over on the interstate. After shifting weight around between our cars, we made it to a rest stop. We were blessed with a gorgeous sunset, which is what I was trying to capture here. Unfortunately, we drove through the most beautiful parts and wasn't able to take pictures.

We stayed the night in Dillon, but decided we had to get a Uhaul the next morning since my truck wasn't going to make it. The only had the largest possible size Uhaul available, and we needed very very little room.

We thought about putting my truck in the Uhaul, because it would have fit. But we pulled it because that was a safer option. Mike had his nervous breakdown at this point since he had never driven a Uhaul before and we didn't know how to pay for it.

We stayed in Billings, MT the next night after driving 55 mph all day. The next day we made it to Dickenson, ND (which I will talk about in another post - the oil boom was intense!) Mike's family forced their help upon on and insisted on driving to Dickenson so they could drive our vehicles the the rest of the way to Bismarck. Mike's dad drove the Uhaul, which was a life-saver! I insisted on driving the rest of the way since Mike's car's dashboard wasn't working and I didn't trust them to figure out how to read mileage and speed. I'm a control freak, and I also hated letting go of the experience of making it on my own. However, Mike's mom and brother followed us, which was extremely relieving because I still had intense fears of Mike's car breaking down because it was also overloaded and was bottoming out at times. But we made it - these are from home.

Mike's brother ordered pizza and his mom bought wine. I wanted hard liquor, but the wine went down better anyway. Celebration was in order! After I cried my eyes out and vomited from the shock of actually making it alive, that is.

Milo and Q.T. were instant best friends. Milo wanted out of that travel cage very very badly, and I don't blame him!
