Are your friends close enough to you that you can tell them that you're disappointed in them? I'm talking about a break in the meaningless small talk and basic chit-chat. If you do something that is morally or ethically wrong, would someone that you count as being close to you be able to say that what you did or said isn't right ( Read more... )

Somewhat incidentally, I think his name was Ted Kaczynski. So I guess if you do something wrong I do feel free to tell you about it. ;)

damn, you're right.

I knew I did something wrong with his name, I just didn't think that I got his first name COMPLETELY wrong.

I wonder who this walter fellow is, that I'm slandering all over the intarweb.

...and thanks for telling me, i think that's a sign of a good friendship. :)

You remind me how ill-informed I've become on many international matters since I left the US to live...internationally. A sobering irony.

I agree with your first question, though. I would hope if my friends thought I was doing something very wrong, they would tell me so. My curiosity is piqued, Tim; have you been embezzling D&A lately? Or dealing blow?

No, Scott, my conscience is clear. But, I guess I give the impression that I'm a white collar(or at least, high-class) criminal... Thanks for the heads up, guy. :P

No, the reason for the first question is simply because of recent observations in other blogs that I've read, books that I've been chewing through, and other sheer randomness.

Speaking of crime - D&A was burgled this weekend. We're assessing the damage presently. Some other offices in our building got hit much harder than we did. Everyone is ok here, and it doesn't seem like they got much from us.

As to current events, well, at work we've got MSNBC on all day on the tube behind me, plus my "personalized google homepage" brings the top stories to me every time I open IE. Mebbe you should change your homepage to cnn.com?

Craptacular. I hope nothing too expensive was stolen/broken/touched inappropriately. I have cnn.com as my homepage, actually, but it's surface-level news at best. Better than nothing I guess. --S
