mamma mia.
i feel like i should be wearing a hello my name is badge and shaking everybodys hands apologetically... oh no i'm sorry the lauren that left america on june 2nd was apprehended by a chaotic turrent of personal change and now i'm the living evidence of what happened as a result. by the way, we still share the same name, only i'm not as pretentious or naive.
if you are really interested in learning about the details of my trip, i think we should meet up in person. gestures and tone get lost somewhere between the tips of my fingers and the monitor and your brain. besides, my memories are not fast food. you can't just order them off a menu. they kind of have to emerge like the paprika that tops deviled eggs. you never taste it until you realize you actually ate it. i loved every moment. even the silence of paris and wandering aimlessly with my camera following my german friend having said our friendship was "kaput". there were epiphanies. little milliseconds that composed minutes, and days and months of this internal rearrangement.
traveling is bliss.
