Note to self--don't stand up in your car and wave. Ever. It's a good way to get shot and then blown up, and it seems to happen to a lot of intelligent leaders.
Whatever the bomber and shooter hoped to achieve, Premier Bhutto is a martyr now, and no one will ever forget her. I think she knew. There's nothing her enemies can do about that now.
let the candles be lit for Pakistan.
(for friends....yeah, Achmed is a little less funny today, but I still take a very strange comfort from it.)
Btw, I'm not trying to spark any nasty political discussions in my journal with this entry. I am posting about this because it hurts, because there should be better ways available to become an example and a household name than getting killed. Sometimes I hate this world, I hate my species, but I will always try my best to understand and forgive. This one will take me a while. I am proud to be a woman that many people look up to. I resent the fact that being a role model can get you blown up.
