Lady Vagabond checks in - Colorado is LOVE (again)!

120 tickets sold last night.
120, for a solo concert, with tons and tons of fire afterward.
I have the best friends, the best fans, the best support crew.

Also, I got my wallet back, thanks to security officer Joseph Cody, my new hero.  He found it, called the number on the back of my debit card, stayed on the other line with my bank while they told me the good news, and graciously put my wallet back into my hands when I came out to his office.  "Still 95 cents in change in there," he said with a smile.  I laughed and said "that was more than I expected!"
The driver's license was what I missed most.  There were other crucial things in there that I now have back, as well--like my Olympus Spa punch card. :D  Seattle ladies, I know you understand.  It was a short crisis, and I'm very glad it's over.  MJ had even express-mailed me my passport so that I could still fly to Arisia if my ID didn't turn up with the rest of my wallet.  Everything's all right now.
I have still ordered a new wallet that's also a wrist cuff (etsy of course), in the hopes that if I attach it to my arm, I'll have less chance of losing my wallet in the future.

I am gloriously tired today, but though I was worried and nervous before the concert, my voice held true and strong all night--I could almost sing as hard as I wanted to without my voice breaking or getting too tired.  I got to give a concert, AND spin fire with my tribe afterwards, two sets plus fire, just like I used to.  It's clear to me now just how tired I was this past fall.  Our winter vacation was a very good idea.  We have to make that a regular thing.
Surrounded by breakfast-cooking badassery and the happy voices of friends (the fire gang's all here at Wileycasa, mostly:  Dusti, Cody, Brandie, Bryan, Sasha and the bean, Adam, gows , plus Dad and Ei, and of course omnisti ), I make my setlist post.

High Plains UU Church and Minigolf (really), 1/09/10:

1.  Cross-section
2.  The Pixie Can't Sleep
3.  The Drowning
4.  Alligator in the House
5.  Pilgrim (cover, Sarah Slean - tithenai that was for you, darling, and it felt GOOD, too)
6.  Rabbit's Song (with djembe - I goofed and left my bodhran at MJ's in Arkansas.  Worked out ok!)
7.  Daughter of the Glade (rowr)

--break--
Things I autographed last night that I'd never autographed before:  a messenger bag strap, concert tickets for my own concert, a lighter, and a pair of socks with ninjas on them.
Yes.  Ninja socks.

1.  Salad of Doom (with K and his fork, dedicated to gows , who fed the crew)
2.  The Truth About Ninjas (wasn't as much laughter as in Denver, and it threw me off a little, but it was all good)
3.  LGPA alma mater (because the pirates have to have the last word)
4.  September's Rhyme
5.  Heart Beat ("if you are at a place where you don't want to sit at a desk any more, as I was, let's use this song as a prayer."  Interestingly, new colleagues Greg Boyles and the rest of Denver-local Pagan group Heart Beat, were in the audience.  I didn't overtly dedicate this to them, but they were part of the reason it had to be on the setlist.)
6.  Manticore's lullabye (dedicated to anyone small in the audience, or anyone in the audience who had to regularly attempt singing a lullabye for someone small, particularly if that someone small is also fierce)
7.  Tough Titty Cupcakes ("just picture a mama raccoon in a spangly dress draped across the back of that grand piano over there."  High Plains UU has the most beautiful concert grand piano I've ever seen--natural wood finish, and the wood is auburn and breathtaking)
8.  In the House of Mama Dragon (built-in encore, beautifully received).

After this, I signed just about everything and talked to as many people as I could before putting on fire gear and running out into the cold to hoop and spin poi with Brandie, Bryan, gows , Kyra, Cody, Dusti, and K.  Sebastien and Adam were our rockstar safeties last night, and it was good.  Gods, it felt good to burn under the stars with my heart's own fire tribe again.  I've missed them so.  For a bonus, Heart Beat struck up their own "Earth, Air, Fire & Water" for us, all of them playing djembe in the freezing cold--as well as Tony Kisling, my dear dear friend.

It's an exquisite afternoon-after.  The cat is asleep in the sun, and I'm not too awake myself.
Got some taking-care-of-things to do today:  two very important phone calls, a costume fitting, and possibly a little gathering here around 5pm.  I'd like to fit in a hot bath and a nap, too.  If we'd packed the PS3, I'd veg out and play a video game.  It's a good day for all of these things.  Tomorrow we pack for Arisia and head back into Denver to rest before catching our plane east.  I'm definitely ready.

colorado, music is life, fire, triumph, my amazing friends, lady vagabond, win and pie, setlist
