1. I could talk today....which means I'll be able to sing tomorrow.
2. Shopping in Madison? Dangerous. In that fun way. New dress, and at last a metal canteen water bottle.
3. Meatball pesto flatbread pizza. Time out to lunch with the sweetest most wonderful posse
4. Met and chatted with Alex Bledsoe. Bought a copy of his novel Blood Groove, which is set in Memphis and peopled with vampires who definitely do. not. sparkle. Who needs the sparkle when you've got the Funk? Looking forward to it.
5. It felt like a con today, and not like work. I dressed up a little, smiled nonstop, and got compliments all day. I could talk, breathe, laugh without any fatigue in my throat or any coughing up of slime. Pretty sure we've sold a goodly amount of CDs, too!
6. Had enough voice back to help with Cat and Will's Acting for Authors workshop tonight...which meant I got to do the Gaselli reading and make up for not being able to do it at all on Friday night! Also, Will and Cat are fun to work and teach with! I was flattered to be pulled in, and the participants seemed pleased overall.
7. Belly dance party! Learned a bit of Tribal, and it felt SO GOOD. Gotta remember to get my jingly belt when I get back to Arkansas for my brief visit next month. (Not a standard coins-and-scarves sort. It's lime green, festooned with multicolored, tiny jingle bells, and it was a gift from a sweet lady in Texas last Beltane. I couldn't ask for a better match.)
8. Good working moments and good quiet moments with my
omnisti , who once again was his silver-tongued salesman self today, this time in the actual dealer's hall, at an actual table. All thanks to
ktempest and the Prime table posse.
9. I actually got to GO TO STUFF today, and I felt good enough to! Made it to
shadesong 's reading, which made her happy and made me happy...and I was very pleasantly surprised by every single presenter in that reading; I loved everything shared.
10. A gift of the gorgeous printed, tangible (heavy!) version of Wind Tunnel Dreams. It's been a day of celebrating the beautiful art and words my friends have made.
11. Speaking of that very thing....we have only SIX copies of Ravens in the Library left in our tour inventory, and we started with a LOT when we left Seattle. WisCon has partially been the "OMG Ravens in the Library, I am buying it RIGHT NOW!" con for us. Everyone loves the anthology.
satyrblade ,
damiana_swan , I could feel you with me.
12. Fun tandem interview with Cat this afternoon which will hopefully be part of a video we can both put up online eventually, all about touring together and performing together and the books and the albums.
13. Met Kimberly A. Blanchette, Shana Cohen and Diana Fox today, among other beautiful faces, hearts, souls. Diana and I talked enthusiastically about ducKon to come, and hopefully she will make it to our performance on the Peking next week in NYC. Hopefully you will, too. ON the deck of the ship, people. Pirate songs. Like unto the awesomeness of Tall Ships Tacoma last year, but ON DECK this time! Let the alma mater ring out! and remember to bring your camera.
Camera! From today and from my walk around the neighborhood, to the lake and the Capitol building yesterday evening.
There's more...but these are my immediate favorites.
Bonus Win: Ben Nye Remove It All makeup remover is also good for leftover sticky stuff from my belly bindi. No more scrubbing for an hour to get it off my skin!
