Now to next week
There are times on the road when unbearably cute things happen. This one takes the cake.
That's my 23-year-old teddy bear and our Marietta house hosts' unbearably cute orange kitteh, Marmalade.
Four shows in four nights three weeks out of the hospital maaaaay have been a little much. Since yesterday morning I've had a stuffy nose and sore shoulders, and last night some of the nerves in my belly decided to come back online. I'm hooked up with vitamin C, echinacea, and Sudafed PE (yes, it's that kind of tour now--my band mates are giving me 'drugs'). Today we all take it easy. Tomorrow omnisti and I head to Arkansas for my (hopefully) only follow-up appointment with Doc Lambert. Sometime on Tuesday we will figure out how we're getting him to Oklahoma city to donate bone marrow and save his elder brother's life.
The blood tests came clear. It turns out omnisti is the best donor.
His parents will be there to take care of both boys, and the hope is that KK will only be down for a couple of days before he can function normally again. All accounts we've found say that after you donate bone marrow, you feel like you had a bad fall, ass first, on the ice for a couple of days. He says he plans to play lots of video games.
I am not at all happy about having to leave him there. "I'll be fine," he says. But he didn't leave me.
