I seem to recall a tradition of mine to write Independence Day entries in Tagalog. Anyhoo, it's already past Independence Day, and I've been worked to the bone with all the events and simultaneous work-related crap slung in my direction.
So.much.has.gone.on. The independence day reception was a success; we all pitched in and managed to promote the country's image. That's all that's important, and I will choose to forget all the drama that led up to it.
Community events were also aplenty, and I got to judge my first beauty pageant. It was more of a drag race, really. They were really pretty, with awesome bodies, complete with leering old guys close to the stage. Quote of the evening from one of the contestants: "Virginity is nothing. Muscle control is everything".
After that, they had a small kid singing "Ben" onstage. Yeah, these events are family friendly indeed.
In between, the work doesn't stop, and I honestly can't wait for July when things should start to taper off.
And in more important news, I finally got to do some laundry today after god knows how long. It is a testament to the size of my closet that I'm able to go on while my poor hamper seems to be reaching its limits.
