Mom spent the night at the hospital last night. When she got back home this morning she said grandpa was like a whole new person. She said he was sitting up, talking, laughing, and didn't even need the breathing machine. I'm not sure if I told about the pill from yesterday, so I'll tell it now. A nurse gave him some sort of pill yesterday and he kept saying it was stuck in his throat and that it felt like it was going in his windpipe. The nurse said if it was in his windpipe he'd be choking and she got a flashlight and checked his throat and didnt see anything. So on to today...when he woke up and they took off the breathing machine they gave him this suction device, like the one a dentist would use, to clean out his mouth. He was still saying something was in his throat so that little gomer stuck that tube in his throat and pulled out...get this...his bottom dentures. Somehow they turned sideways and he swallowed them. We believe that when they stuck the breathing machine on him, they didnt take out both sets of dentures, and the machine blew them down his throat. This evening when I went up there to visit him he wasn't doing near as good as he was this morning because he has double pnemonia and congestive (no idea how to spell that) heart failure which basically means his heart is getting weaker and should stop once the pnemonia is gone. Anyhoo, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has commented or left me a message saying they were thinking of him and praying for him...I appreciate it and this proves that it works. I mean, yesterday we were told he would most likely die and today he is able to talk fine and joke around with us. So keep up the good work people. Thank you all...g'night.
