Where am I?

What is this place?

...How did I get here...?

[She clutched the knife in her gloved hands to her chest, glancing around with narrowed violet eyes.]

Who's there?

[Her voice was suspicious sounding like the turrets from Portal.]

This...is a peculiar turn of events.

... [Her eyes widened a bit, taking a step back. Knife still raised in slight defense.] Austria...!? Why are you here...

[Austria prodded at the screen of his communicator. Believe you me, he wasn't foolish enough to go charging into wherever Belarus was, especially not with that knife there. Knifes are pointy and slice right through fine velvet suits.]

The same reason as everyone else has, I imagine. We've been annexed to a place known as Wonderland. I'll take it you've just arrived then?

[Stares down at the communicator on the floor that suddenly has Austria's face on it... before leaning down and picking the device up.] ... I fell.

[And was shot. BUT MOSTLY FELL... despite the wound in her left shoulder that she has managed to keep a straight face with the entire time she's been standing there. NEW FREAKISH LOCATION > pain.] ...What happened to you? [Pokes at the screen slightly with a gloved finger... knife still in that hand just in case the weird Austrian device suddenly decided to attack her.]

[AND IT JUMPS AT HER AND GOES FOR HER JUGULAR V- no I'm just kidding, it remains on the ground, and Austria just kind of politely nods.]

I cannot say I fell, but I found myself here while on my way to attending other matters. Wonderland's boss seems to have no regard for the prior lives of its inhabitants.

[He sounds kind of annoyed over that, but he looks back up at Belarus.] You'll come to find that for yourself here, I'm certain.

[She looked over the communicator with a bewildered expression that was so rarely seen on her pale face, completely unaware that he could see her at all as she turned it over... before looking down at the tiny video of the Austrian.]

I see... I was in the middle of a fight when I fell here... What happened to you?

[He raised an eyebrow at her.]

...I just told you what happened to myself. I'm afraid it's not more interesting the second time it's spoken of, Belarus.

So you fell and got trapped in a small box...? [She shook it a little, as if in morbid curiosity if it would shake him about...]

[She secretly hoped it would.]

Would you please stop that? It makes it very difficult to see you on this end when you do that.

[He wasn't shaken of course, but having been exposed to the technology for some time made him somewhat impatient.]

................ [She accidentally dropped the communicator then.] ...You can see me? [The device was picked back up... she was even more convinced than ever that the device itself was in fact Austria.]

... My apologies. That was immature of me.

Of course I can see you! You can see me as well, can you not? [Augh, all of these countries from the past and their technological incompetence! Not that Austria was the best in the world technologically, but he at least understood his communicator]

It was, but you are forgiven. If you keep dropping this like that though, you'll be certain to break it.

... It's not like I'm trying to.

[...Slight inward grumbling.]

I'm new to these things... Please forgive my mistakes, Sir Austria.

[Well, that was new. Or, at the very least, it had been a long time since Belarus had called him that. He peered at her curiously.]

...When are you from exactly, Belarus?

Ah... 1742... [She tilted her head a bit, looking over the Austrian with curious, violet eyes.] How can you not know what year it is, Sir Austria...?

[He paused for a moment, considering when this was, and what exactly this meant for him.]

...Because this world has pulled us from very different times. It is was the year 2009 when I left. Much has changed between then and 1742.

You're welcome to argue against it, however many other nations present here are under similar predicaments. Both Prussia and Russia are also from what would be considered the past from my perspective.

... I see. So I am from a different time? [What reason did Austria have to lie?

Well, besides the fact he was a talking box.]

...In the future is everyone a box like you?
