[Her breath hitched in her throat, back against the wall as she slid against it. Violet eyes scouting the area for any possible threat... Her knife at the ready at her side as she glared at every passing shadow... Every creak of the floor ( Read more... )

[ well luckily England ends up being one of those unknowns! He's walking along somewhat slowly, trailing along a line of brick dust because IDK they used it in The Skeleton Key. He's drawing up a protective line, because obviously it's the work of poltergeists. In any case, he wasn't exactly aware of his surroundings ]

[The knife swung, her eyes narrowing before widening at the sight of her blade digging into... the wall. Violet eyes narrowed as she looked down, thinking that she might have miss-aimed and should have been aiming for a midget or a small child...

...

Or England. England worked too.] ...Inklund?

Fucking hell!

[ for once, being somewhat smaller was a major advantage. Falling over on his butt because good god who expects to have an axe/knife murderer waiting for them around a corner. Buuut after a few seconds, as the heart attack subsides he gets a closer look at who exactly tried to murder him. ]

Belarus? What the deuce are you doing here?

[The slightest bit of a blush was on her cheeks... that would have been a rather unfortunate death for the Englishman... Turn a corner and then BAM---Knife to the face.

She was glad that she missed though... England had never done anything to directly hurt her. He was not an ally, but he was far from an enemy or someone to be worried about.

After all... he was the one on the ground, and she was the one with the knife.] Likely the same as you, Inklund... I am here to be toyed with by this 'Wonderland'...

[ yeah that certainly would have been one for the history books. Standing up slowly, because while he's not too worried Belarus will suddenly react, she still's holding an extremely sharp knife ]

Er- yes, I suppose. Didn't realise you had arrived as well.

I have not been here long. [She shook her head and placed her hands on her hips. Cautiously sliding the knives into the belt of her uniform... though watching him suspiciously.] I heard you were here, but I didn't expect to see you.

[She glanced down to the marks on the floor...] What are you doing?

[ well, he's going to sound stupid no matter how he phrases it, so he goes for it directly ]

Marking up protective circles against poltergeists. I'm almost certain they've been causing all the incidents.

[ dusting off his hands, because he can finish up this one circle later. He's not exactly in a rush. Belarus is pretty damn intimidating, but he can't help but wonder what she was up to with a knife ]

And I suppose you were... just out for a walk?

A poltergeist almost killed Austria with a chandelier? [Her brows rose in doubt, but then she frowned. Well... it made sense with the bursting lights that Helena and she had encountered earlier...]

... Is there anything I can do to help?

[She shifted a bit awkwardly, considering her coat was gone.]

It certainly killed his piano.

[ awkward turtle moment! He can't think of anything for Belarus to do, but it would have been rude to turn her offer down ]

There's nothing I can think of specifically, but you're welcome to tag along. I still need to ward the rest of this hallway.

[She gave a firm nod.] Da. I saw that... it was rather unfortunate. Though I have never heard him play, I know he is quite fond of music...

And I will tag along then...

Bit too obsessed with music, if you ask me. Chap ought to go out every now and then instead of playing the piano all day.

[ hoisting up his sack of brick dust again. ]

Well then, back to work. You're under no obligation to stay, if you get bored.

I suppose I can tag along for awhile... It is interesting to see how paranoid you are. I have never really spoken to you this much before.
