1. John's been know to get up at six am and Start the Day Early-- which usually means having a plate of pancakes and bacon out and ready when Mary crawls out from under the covers at eight.
2. They don't have fights often, but when they do, Mary always ends them the same way: with a whisper-soft kiss and a kittenish "You're the Boss" ghosting across his ear.
3. 'The day that Mary announces she's pregnant,' John had onced declared, 'That'll Be the Day I'm gone'-- but no one ever bothered to hold him to that.
4. Mary beat John at poker so often that he started calling her his Little Queen of Spades and threatening to take her to the weekly boy's night poker game.
5. John loved Mary so much that sometimes he didn't know why he hadn't burst at the seams from it all.
6. The Wind Cries Mary's name that night, carrying the scent of ash and sulfer, and John reaches out instinctively to where Mary should be sitting beside him; his stomach twists viciously when he realizes for the fifth time in as many minutes that she's dead.
7. There was one creature that took Mary's shape-- she called him Angry Johnny like an affectionate nickname, and laughed until he shot her three times in the face.
