I mean, rhinos from SPACE! And we're on the MOON! Grubby space rhinos, with guns, on the MOON!

Oh, Doctor Who, you are so awesome, with your "genetic transfers" (See, here on Earth, that's what we call "swapping spit".) And Martha has the seeds of a really fun companion. Here's hoping she picks things up faster than Rose, though. Although, I have to admit, having Martha mimic Rose's "it's bigger on the inside than it is on the outside" was pretty funny-- you can see the essential human-ness of that reaction, and how used to it the Doctor is. It's clearly something almost every human companion does.

Martha is hitting the relationship aspect ealier than Rose and HARD, though, which is nice-- plenty of women would assume something might occur alone in a blue box with an unattached and rather pretty man, so it's not surprising that someone straightforward by nature would adress it in a straightforward manner. Also, it means that the writers are addressing that whole "Rose is the Doctor's one twu wuv" thing and getting it the hell out of there. Sure, he's upset, but he just needs someone new to spend time with. (That bit at the end: "One trip and back, just as thanks!" is so obviously hiding a "spend time with me, love me, I'm feeling a bit alone here." And they both know it.)

And being really, really shallow-- Martha has better makeup than Rose, which already puts her one step up from Miss "I put makeup on with a trowel".
