Ironically, the ears are always open, but they may as well be shut.

I understand your frustration, but listening is a learned behavior (anyone who has had to deal with children knows this)--can't really blame people, as tempting as it may be. The default: nobody listens.

Well, what I wrote applies to me, so I'm pointing fingers at myself too. It only struck me how difficult listening actually is, when someone really sat down and listened to me.
