Sorry for the long delay. I may ostensibly have solved the problem with Cavalier (our Internet has been slow, but I made it fast, for at least a while). I'm also finishing work on my last post-college project (an article for Sci-Fi Japan), before moving on to bigger plans.
And notice that I changed the color theme of my blog for the Thanksgiving season!
At around 8 PM on Friday, Mom, Angel and I headed out to Pensylvania to Peter (
wolfchylde) & Tony (
tonybbb)'s apartment (before we headed out, we ate at Burger King in our neighborhood). We got there between 2 or 3 AM. A friend of his hung out there as they waited for us. I noticed that Peter got Verizon FIOS, which we're STILL waiting for in Richmond! (Cavalier seems to be falling apart.) I also got to see Peter & Tony's second kitten,
Roxy (a black & white kitten)! Even with two cats in the house, I still felt a lot less allergic! (Mom had me take Claritin each day.)
Saturday, we went to have brunch at Henning's (a local version of Ukrop's). It's great, as usual! Then, we went to a local computer store (much like Computer City), and got some supplies (a new CHIP fan for Mom, and some DVD data discs for us). I even noticed that they had a cool Wacom Cintiq Tablet! That is something I would totally need. After that, we went up to Villanova to visit Ingrid (
chaoslin) & Robert (
madcurry), and had tea there. It's a pleasure to see them again. We then headed back home to watch Peter's Blu-Ray of Speed Racer (the new movie). In short, it started out really slow in the first half, but the action picks up more in the second half! It's pretty faithful to the original anime series (although a few changes were made), and pretty colorful and action-packed. It's a pretty good adaptation. Then, Peter and his friends spent the rest of the night playing the new Soul Caliber game on the X-Box 360. I never played it, but it's pretty neat! It's got Darth Vader and Yoda in the game! Besides that, there's also a cool and funny part where you get to create a "custom" male or female character with mishmash accessories and clothing from all the characters in the game! It was pretty hilarious.
Sunday, before taking a shower, I had Peter shave off all of my hair! Since he used an electric cutter, it didn't take too long. Now my head is smooth and fuzzy! It's the first time I've ever had my hair cut like that. I felt I needed a change of pace. Plus, I hear that it's really healthy, because my hair can grow back in whatever balding spots I have! It happened for Peter. After finally watching some of my DVDs and video files on Peter's PS3, we went to have brunch at Pumpernick's, and went to a plaza, where Angel had to get his hair cut properly (he needed a better Marines haircut, because his dad cut it unevenly), and I hung out with Peter and Tony at Best Buy. There, I finally bought the DVD for Terror of Mechagodzilla! I'll go into that in another post, save that this DVD is a ginormous treat for fans of this film! I watched some of the DVD before we finally said goodbye and headed out at 6PM, and got back at around midnight. (Yesterday, I watched it with the commentary by Keith Aiken and Bob Johnson! The commentary is awesome.)
Tuesday, I went to Sam's with Mom, and she got me the new DVD for A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving! It's an awesome DVD! Plus, the "Mayflower Voyagers" episode of This is America, Charlie Brown is complete and uncut!!! Unlike the previous versions by Paramount, where a scene (with pilgrims shooting a turkey in a puff of smoke) was edited!
