Teenage Mutants Ninja... Ho well, they're teenagers anyway...

Two days ago,
ber_uang-kun asked me to watch TMNT together. I think there's no problem with it, so I joined in to watch. If he didn't ask, I might not care for it anyway, although I like the TV show of it in my youth.

Anyway, the impression i got of TMNT is...

1) Considering i've seen some old TMNT's  series, which all's about combining real world with 3D animation, I could care less. This thing shows me it's NO hybrid. It's all 3D animations. Okay, well, they get me. This is not another lousy hybrid of real action with 3D technologies... It's... ... ... another 3d animation movies.

2) Despite of that, I stand skeptical to the movie. Nothing so impressive. Yeah I know, good technique, great effects, bla bla blah. Yes may be the technique is ABSOLUTELY GREAT! God, that's quite furr for the splinters! REAL Splinterw!! But then, in other side, if you would try to look from another side, at least the story, so you'll know why I keep skeptical.

What I kinda dislike the thing is about the Deus Ex Machina-thingy with the movie. Okay, movies NEED Deus Ex, but this one is just... For God's sake, I know the city is full with some crimes, but HOW THE HELL THOSE MONSTERS ARE COMING!? They just popped out of nowhere, and ... WHY?! for WHAT? Destroying the earth?

What's so ridiculous is when April said about the legend of... whatever it is. Okay, it's about an immortal, but what's so scary of that that it's told to keep the children stay home? It doesn't concern them AT ALL!

Not to mention about Raphael - Leo's connections. Really, it's not a BIG matter that Raph is more hot-headed than Leo. And i can say, Leo's "training" in the jungle don't effect MUCH! REALLY! He doesn't learn new technique, he's still as the leader as he is but still the "ordinary Splinter-wannabe"-leader! His training doesn't mean ANYTHING! I hope Mikey and Done would've more a lot of focus and furrsonality. All just about Leo and Raph and guess what: Newsflash, EVERYBODY KNOWS IT! It's LAME! They gonna fix it sooner or LATER! That's all!

So, what is it all about? Just about "a movie"? I believe Raph and Leo would headbutt each other again and again in the future. It's like the movie would just never happen. All just about  turtles saving the day. That's it! Even it doesn't need to be a movie, may be the TV series could make that happen in some series.
There, that's my "review". And it seems not all of TV series are better to be converted into movies. The techniques are moderately great, but story-wise, I don't feel much soul for it.

reviews, movie
