After some 'severe' battle with the lagging, eventually I moved to nearby internet cou... cafe. No, really, it's better called internet counter. Cafe is too good and they don't even have a CAFE!
Anyway,
Random Days have been updated today eventually. Still keeping other deadlines, but at least this one is not busted. ... yet...
And just being random, I just want to compare that the internet counter I usually use is a thing that I really hate, but also I really love
Javanta Internet Counter"review"
Pros:
1) (Currently) Able to install any program. In case you have your own needed application, like a download manager or orbit downloader, you can just install it here. However, due to the policy, any installed programs will be automatically gone every time you log out of the counter, or the computer is turned off. So it's important that you should have your own portable programs (thanks for the tips,
powree -chan)
2) Able to encode characters. This is surely important to me. Commonly, some internet counters just don't install the Japanese text, making me unable to comprehend certain sites. It's still unable to just type japanese in this counter, though.
3) Sometimes, they're selling my favorite snacks and drinks.
4) They have prayer room.
Cons:
1) Could be severely slow. Perhaps, because this counter is just free to install anything, It is possible some random bozos are downloading dangerous stuff from internet and without knowing anything, they would just press enter to any offered "exe" data! Recently I have found that at least 4 out of... 20 (more or less) have some mysterious lagging after some time, even if you just open a couple of browsers! It's pretty frustrating!!
2) The computer's frustratingly... (cih...) GAY! More than HALF computer I used there couldn't activate my flash drive if it's not jacked from behind! It's just troublesome if you have to stand up just to look for their BUTT!!
3) If you're not careful, your flash drive might have contracted with an unseen virus. i dunno with me, so far nothing wrong with my flash drive or my computer at home. But the several mysterious lagging (read Cons #1) kinda prove it. And I found at least a couple of computers in this counter love to do the auto-reset... Expect surprise shutdown, people!
4) Unmaintained computer... Because i know one of the computer have a serious problem with the screen and the hard drive has a very serious problem with lagging. I don't want to go online from that number 15!!
5)The prayer room is NOT that clean! Mainly because sometimes some of the crew use it for a NAPPING ROOM! Even they haven't changed the dead lamp for WEEKS (two month, and counting)!
'kay. So what's with other counters? The closest one, which I often use to update my website, is called Revolution Proxy.Net. So let's '"review"'em.
Revolution Proxy.Net Internet Counter"review"
Pros:
1) Pretty fast. 'kay, not THAT fast. But at least their connection is more stable than Javanta.
2) Less lagging. I haven't found a bad lagging in this computer, ever. The only lag I have is when I was being naughty to open multiple browsers with multiple tabs. But when I turned off some, they run fine again.
3) The computer is pretty 'straight' :D Mostly, I found my flash drive works when I jacked up frontally.
Cons:
1) No outer installation. Which means, you could just use the program provided by the counter. If they don't have the program you want, just suck it. You couldn't feel safe if yer downloading something big because the connection could just end abruptly, for the worst case, because you can't have download manager (This internet counter doesn't provide them). You can't even run your portable program, because it is considered threat, and thus, the computer has been programmed NOT to allow you to run it. Sucks, doesn't it?
*and they still use WINDOW MESSENGER instead of MSN LIVE!? Just because people don't use it so much? It's pretty lame!
2) Unable to encode characters. Which means, you can't browse websites which don't use roman characters. You will just browse randomly any ASCII codes because you don't even know what it means!
3) They don't have prayer room. It's just bothersome that if the prayer time comes and you must get out of there to find any nearest prayer room or mosque, which i consider pretty far by walking.
So, there. Due to the lagging problems and unstable connection, I don't use Javanta to update my website. But, in case you're checking some websites which need encoding, I still could count on it. I still use Javanta 8 times outta 10, because of its ability to browse things and install things. So far, I don't get virus from there, so although its security is fragile, I think it's okay. In other side, I need Revolution Proxy.net for its stability, to view some youtube, and to submit or download some big files, thanks to its stability. Currently I'm downloading a 50 MB file thru Firefox, and so far I don't need an download manager like I do in Javanta because it's pretty stable and quick.. And I submit swf or flv data in this counter. In Javanta, its unstability might make it crash severely.
Man, what an idea to write a random review while waiting a 50 MB zip data, heheheheh!
