Post-Fanime Roundup
Wow, a lot has been going on in the past week! Here's a summary/update of the goings on:
Wed, May 21
Ditch day. I had to wake up at 5:30am in order to get there on time...:gonk: When I got there, the power had just gone out because some retarded pageboys had flooded part of the north basement as part of their stack and did it wrong, knocking out the power in the north and south houses (and possibly other parts of campus) . I was signed up for Nathan and Barmore's Full Metal Panic stack but we found out that the power outage meant that they had lost the final version of the clues (they were going to be digital clues) so we had to keep nathan and/or barmore with us all day so that we would know where to go. We all pretended they were holograms so we wouldn't have to tape them to trees. XD On the downside, Joel and Dennis made up their minds to be really super overenthusiastic and annoying and it was exhausting to be with them all day. I was so tired by the days end I ended up falling asleep pretty soon after coming home without doing any packing.
Also, the zip line was freaking awesome.
Thurs, May 22
Had to wake up at 5:30 again in order to pack for fanime. T_T Got all my packing done relatively quickly and we even managed to leave from Rose's house before 11 am. It was windy the whole way up so it was actually kind of difficult driving, you could really feel the wind affecting the handling of the car. Got to Sacramento around 6:15 so we ate and hung out in a carls jr until it was time for the concert. The club was this run down shitty dump of a place that looked like it should have had country line dancing from the outside, but on the marquee it was all goth and metal bands, which is kind of weird. The opening act kind of sucked, they were one of those kinds of bands that just screams all the time instead of actually singing...it was kind of painful to have to stand there and listen to them while they did their set. On the other hand NIGHTWISH WAS FUCKING *AWESOME*!!!!! It was totally worth the $30 for the tickets and driving 100 miles out of our way to go see them...SO MUCH FUCKING WIN.
Fri, May 23
1st day of Fanime. Picked up our badges with literally no wait. Met up with Tekkie, Thebi, Talu, and Waffles at various points throughout the day. X3 Went back at 5 to check in for our booth, were the first in line. Unfortunately they didn't start check in until close to 7 because they were all disorganized and shit (what a surprise...not). We first signed up for a sweet table in the front center, but then when we came back they said that they had actually reserved that table for someone else and we had to pick another one. T_T Rose picked one in back near the art show but then we went over and it was kinda blocked from the door by the show so I was like "I want another table" so we ended up with a table right next to a popular booth and really close to the gaia artist conclave. Except for the fact that it was a little easy too miss because the doors fed directly into the aisle behind us, we had a really good table. Plus we were really close to the Gaia artists!! <3 Only sold 1 pair of wings, and that was to Tek, but we only had like 2 hours of business time.
When we got back to the car, we discovered a crack in my windshield. o___O;; I have no idea how it got there.
Sat, May 24
Good day at con! I sold 9 pairs of wings, including all of my nm wings. X3 Hung around at the table most of the day, until around 3:30 when I went to get in line for the Gaia panel. Tek and Rose and Steph (?) all got in line way behind me but I managed to save seats for them with the power of my mind! XD Some little girl ended up fangirling Tek at the panel, so Tek went over to her seat to talk to her for a little and ended up giving her his autograph or something. *squee* Alsoalsoalso, KirbyUFO proposed to Crazy Spork I Am (sporkii) at the panel!!! *major squee* Went to masquerade after but didn't end up staying very long. Afterwards we went out for pizza with tek and waffs and this lady with floofies in her hair that liked to talk a lot (she and rose managed to blabber practically nonstop for like 2 freaking hours. X.x;;).

Sold out of my remaining 4 pairs of wings!! :D Went to the gaia meetup, but it was kind of lame because we just hung out in this one corner of the games room and there weren't really any activities or anything. I signed up to become a product tester for Gaia, hopefully the won't need people that are close to their offices in San Jose or anything, we can just do it from the internet. Talked to Jenzee and Your-Fathers-Belt for awhile at the meetup, we suggested that they should make a wedding dress item from whatever sporkii's dress will be. They were also in really awesome arrancar cosplays that showed off their midriffs really well X3 Wanted to go out for sushi but the sushi places were all closed so we all went out for thai instead with rose, waffs, steph, thebi, talu, tek, baka, and georgie. It was totally like a threadling convention thing! We even got to talk to gwyn on Talu's phone. Talu started talking me and rose into doing an artist alley table at Tokyo in Tulsa.
Mon, May 26
Tekkie had to leave for Wisconsin pretty early in the day, we only got a chance to say goodbye and give him his wings (I had been holding onto them for him). I gave pepper-tea my tin of earl grey that I had brought, and I ended up buying some mini tadpoles and a mini frog for reapersun ('cause of orindae). Pepper-tea gave me a button in return! I also bought an onigiri cell phone charm from juno, cause it was super cute. I got to talk a lot with all the gaia artists that were there, especially pepper-tea, reaper-sun and jenzee. Rose sold out of almost all of her scarves, only a grey kitty and a brown bear were left! Finally, after the con finished we drove up to my uncle and aunt's house in pleasanton and had tasty singaporean food~
