Phantom Hourglass and Super Princess Peach make me want to get a DS...

from theHylia:
This time we're introducing a dungeon, the Ocean King Temple*, with a time constraint. We wondered how the player would play through a time-limited dungeon.

Then came the idea of having enemies the player couldn't defeat in that dungeon. If they can't be beaten, the only choice left is to run away from them. We thought it'd be a thrilling, interesting dungeon if the player was hunt down while trying to clear it within the time limit.

Since this dungeon overturns the conventions of the traditional dungeon, I thought it'd be difficult for beginners. Interestingly enough though, people new to Zelda games had a relatively smooth time. On the other hand, people who had played previous Zelda titles thought it was hard. That's something that surprised us during the game's development.

Moving efficiently in this dungeon is important, so taking notes to solve the puzzles is very effective. If you keep doing that, you'll clear the rooms in a shorter time and thus you'll be able to go deeper into the dungeon. You'll really feel how much you've improved.

*The Ocean King Temple has a curse that gradually weakens Link. He can move freely as long as the sand of time from the Phantom Hourglass lasts or in the few "sacred areas" scattered throughout the temple.

THIS IS LIKE MAJORA'S MASK MEETS SILENT HILL 4 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO D:

I like to dick around in temples - that's part of the fun. So time constraints and having something chasing you is not. In MM it's okay because time is your bitch; in SH4 it's slightly less okay but still okay since there isn't a time limit and I can run in circles for as long as I want. But this is not okay.

But watch, if I ever play the game, I'll hail it as the coolest dungeon ever.

phantom hourglass, majora's mask, the legend of zelda, silent hill
