"I needed you here"!
For some reason my laptop didn't show the date when I hovered over the time (y'all know what I'm talking about, right?), so I started panicking. I knew what time it was, but I didn't know what day it was (the fact that it was Tuesday the 17th yesterday had no effect). It wasn't until I double-clicked on the time a good deal later and the calendar popped up with the date that I was reassured.
Today is Wednesday October 18, 2006.
This is the reason why I carry a cellphone (my cellphone and I are not at that point in our relationship for me to simply call it a "cell"). I don't want to receive any calls when I go out somewhere, and I only make calls when I'm out somewhere, bored and waiting (which isn't often). No, I carry a cell phone with me and feel very lost when I don't have it because the cell phone displays in very big letters the TIME and in smaller letters the DATE. If it just had the time, I probably wouldn't rely on it as much (I could just wear a watch, right?), but no...my cell phone has the date. I have absolutely no concept of time (or money, either, but that's a different story), so for me, something to tell me what day it is is essential!
I wish I had a watch, though, that was like that. I could wear it on my wrist and look at it whenever I felt confused instead of digging around in a lazy panic through my bag for my cellphone. And the watch would HAVE to have: time and date (including month -- preferrably year although I am not that bad sometimes). Majong would be a plus.
That is my dream, to own something like that. Just like that white longsleeved t-top with the thick red bands I had a dream about. Man, I looked like a pirate in my head.
