Chinese New Year + Olympics + Valentine's Day (er, fuck that) = WOAH
Feb 14, 2010 12:32
So it's Chinese New Year, the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, AND it's Valentine's Day today... and I'm going to downtown later. Is that a masochistic kind of action? Totally. But I'm just getting into the mood for the Olympics and I'm still quite high from yesterday's women's moguls (yay Jennifer Heil!) and short track speed skating (I never knew that sport can be THAT exhilarating to watch, seriously). So to honor the games and get other people into the spirit, I've made some icons from the pretty graphics on the website.
Did anyone also think it's ironic that fan's favorite moment in the opening ceremony - according to CTV - is the lighting of the flame cauldron in BC Place... the uh malfunctioning cauldron, I should add?
On top of that, I think it's time - after living 12 years in Vancouver, Canada - for me to learn to be a true Canadian... by watching some men's hockey later on this week. It's practically the national sport, goddamnit! Let's do it!
