I feel like putting my opinion in on this issue.
Is it needed?
No.
But who cares?

EVERYONE needs to shut up about "I LIEKED DEM 1ST SO DEYRE MINE & NO1 ELSES!"
The band did not make themselves for your shitty clique.
And there's no one with authority enough to tell people what they can and cannot listen to.
"We have heard about these bands before anyone else."
And there were people that have heard of them before you.
So can they tell you to stop listening to them also?
And about the whole Hot Topic issue...
Most of the losers I'm assuming you're talking about, all claimed to be pissed that they had shirts in Hot Topic.
MySpace/LiveJournal communities are supposed to be creepy to those not in it.

And in regaurds to the mainstream comments.
Personally I think people who avoid mainstream because it's mainstream are stupid.
You're missing out on a lot.
How will you know you like it if you don't associate yourself with it?
