A Day for Disaster Movies

Sep 11, 2011 21:59

I woke up at 4 to the sound of Tony coughing and giving me semi-nightmares about him dying. So I played some WoW and got my main character a new horse, which happens to be a ghost.
Ain't he pretty?
I decided for roleplay purposes that this is the ghost of her first horse, since I don't have that mount anymore do to a patch change.

That done, I read a chapter of Kushiel's Dart, but there was an exciting passage about a ship setting sail, and I needed something visual. A movie with a big, grand ship...

I figured, "I haven't watched Titanic in at least ten years, and despite how much everyone I know shoots it down, I do recall enjoying it when it came out."

So I did that.

Then I needed more disaster movies, so I found a "docudrama" called Supervolcano about what would happen if Yellowstone blew.

It cut off a little short rather than drawing out the drama, so I think I need just one more... It's a bit late, but I've got a big coffee-shop cup of hot chocolate. I should be good.
And I'm leaning toward War of the Worlds, just to throw some scifi in there, but I might save that for tomorrow and try something less nightmare-inducing. Maybe Twister, just because I've never actually seen it (and because a movie about a killer tornado in my state is obviously less scary than aliens who can't even survive earth germs....)

All in all, my most consistently themed September 11th.

Edit: Nope, can't find any working links for Twister... I guess I'll risk the nightmares of water-tower spaceships with automated bendy straw camera probes.
I'll just play more WoW afterwards to soften it up. Then I can dream of pwning the hypoallergic aliens with my demon-alien-paladin.

In fact...

Hello Tripod...
Who's the scary alien now?
