I think I read it in the newspaper today, it was some interview with some celebrety... who it was doesn't matter, but what they were saying stuck in my head throughout the day.
What they were talking about was the way we all show different aspects of ourselves to different people. They went on to say that this is not being fake at all, it is a natural thing we do as people.
Different people and situations amplify and mute various parts of your persona. I think many different factors on the surface contribute to this, from insecurities, subconcious quirks, mood, time of day/month/year, maturity level, you name it. But ultimately these factors are all ripples in the surface tension of human conciousness.
Take two chemicals and mix them together, and depending on what they both are, they react and form something new. Mix one with something different, and the end result is also different. On an atomic level, all the same particles are still there, and if you look deep enough I'm sure you'll find something that someone would call God, and others would call Infinity.
As lowly humans we need to filter reality.
For ourselves and our sanity, and for those we love, and their sanity too.
Redirect what you don't understand towards someone who does.
How else would you make sense of anything when everyone is everything?
