Oh, wow, thank you so much! I didn't think anyone would take this request, but not only did you, you did an exceptional job with it. I don't know where to begin.

I'm crushing hard on Helena as you've written her - she's tough and smart, but also still so *young*, idealistic and searching for answers. Her comment about Selina's grave made me choke up, while her abashed ogling of Canary made me grin loonily.

And your Canary -- GAH. She's a sexy, sexy broad, and I could read another ten thousand words about her. Wonderful job.

"Maybe your outfit is supposed to be ironic or something. Metaphorical. I don't know, right?"
Your dialogue's so snappy and *fun*, and this is probably my favorite line of several.

*dances you* THANK YOU!

Forgive me for thinking I had plenty of Earth 2 icons. ::facepalm::

As soon as I saw your request, I knew I would write this. And I had so much fun researching Helena Wayne. I love her origin story! All new to me.

Her comment about Selina's grave made me choke up, while her abashed ogling of Canary made me grin loonily.

Heehee. I'm honored I moved you, and glad you had fun. I was so, so afraid it would be too frivolous.

And your Canary -- GAH. She's a sexy, sexy broad, and I could read another ten thousand words about her. Wonderful job.

I am so in love with Black Canary. And I have wanted to Silver Age her for a long time. Hopefully this will be the start of something. :) Thank you for motivating me with your awesome requests!

Wow! I love the subtle dynamic between the two. It's so sweet, and hot and sort of... tentative. Like neither of them have quite figured it out yet.

All in all, completely fabulous!

I never realised there was a sub-genre to the comic-verse. Very interesting and I really liked their interactions and comments about the position of women on the streets and in the force etc. Very nice.

Thank you. I'm glad you liked it. It was fun to play in this comic universe for a while, where everything isn't so bleak, but there are still trade-offs (like the sexism).

You know I know very little about this genre or these characters, but I do know I enjoyed this story. I especially liked Helena. She seems so innocent but with a darker side just hinted.

These were my favorite parts (they made me laugh):

Gotham didn't yield to the sunny dispositions of herself or Mother Nature. As she rounded a corner she heard voices raised in argument. Someone dragged the darkness into the dawn. And just when she was going to get donuts.

and

Helena, late for work once again, wondered how she would be able to fight crime with Black Canary so close to her. Vixens shouldn't be superheroes. It was unfairly distracting.

I like the notion of this sentence:

Huntress couldn't quite put her finger on the potion, she just knew she was intoxicated.

Thank you! I love that you liked those parts in particular. I think they're the most understated of the humor. Or something. I don't know. It seems very us. :)
