Hello! Pro Vocal Tier Listing!
This is based on vocals, recorded and live, and my expert opinion. Yes, I'm an expert..so look out for the mass knowledge that's going to be spewed in your direction. I'm not doing S/mileage yet 'cause I still don't really know their voices apart. I may add them at a later date. Maybe.
*note that nicknames such as Miyabitch & Idull have rights owned by their original creators. They're awesome and appropriate nicknames though, so I had to use them. Thx.
---TOP TIER---
Aichan / Miyabi / Reina / Risako
Aichan: Obviously she has to be number one, if I put her anywhere else I'd probably be shot. Considering she basically duets all of Momusu's songs with Reina and sounds perfect, if not better each time, there's no other position for her. I wish she would cut down on the angsty faces and guestures though.
Miyabitch: Love. Her voice is a little nasally, but I like it a lot. And plus, she has miracle hair which is +1 from me.
Reina: Yeah. I guess Reina's here..like I said, I don't want anyone to put a hit out on me. Her squeaky voice is reliable, and mildly appealing.
Risako: Powerhouse. I can't tell if her voice is bad or good sometimes though..she has the most lines of any Berry, so it's probably a lot of strain. She rocks Zoku v-u-den's ONLY YOU. My beloved Sayu's a bit out of her league in that group, but it's cool. <3 /derailed
---GREAT TIER---
Airi / Linlin / Momoko / Kame / Gaki
Airi: Could have been put in top tier, except I always think of that one fan recording of Shock where she was just exhausted and ended up laughing. Whoopsie. Sounds great in Buono! and her 67+ solos. Obviously Tsunku thinks so too. Whoops, I forgot the ♂. Tsunku♂. Oh, and the P. Tsunku♂P. Why the fuck does he use a P? +1 to whoever can riddle me that.
Linlin: I'm biased. I could have also put her in the top tier, but she's not versitile in that she sounds great in fast songs. Girl rocked Aozora ga FKjkdsjfkls de Are in Platinum 9 Disc, even the fan recording of that shiz blew me away. She also rules Aishite Aishite Atto Ippun. The shitty Osaka song..not so much. OH! Her line in Shuffle Date's Honey Pie was pwnsome..so maybe she's a work in progress?
Momo: Her voice sounds immature to me, but she has excellent control. Not much else to say, so here are some gifs:
Kame: I love her voice, but it can get sharp at times, especially when live. Bitch can dance. Maybe I should do a dance tier ranking next? Only I'd really have to do some studying in that department. D:
Gaki: Her voice might just be my favorite recorded, but if I never heard her sing live again I would throw a party.
---MID TIER---
Yurina / Maasa / Chisato / Erina / Maimi
Yurina: Her voice is one of the most unique ones in the project. Only I just can't get over how dumb she is, and even though it's unrelated to this tier ranking, it affected her place a bit. I like her voice though, even though it rarely goes with the song, it's nice.
Maasa: Bias bias bias. Some people say she's the worst Berry, but they're sadly mistaken. Remember I'm an expert.
Chisato: Hmm. Probably could be lower, but I like her a lot. Certainly in the top 2 or 3 of C-ute. Too nasally live. Needs more practice in recordings, but I'm blaming Tsunku♂ for why she's not better yet.
Idull: Bleh. She has improved, I'll give her that..but her voice is no prize. The only song of hers that I like (I didn't even try her album) is Otome no Inori.
Maimi: Ew. Would have ranked her last due to my dislike of pretty much every aspect of her, but she has good control and is sounds like her recordings live. Should not have a single solo in Dance de Bakon. Giving her prominent lines in it was a big, fat, gigantic mistake. Oh! I just thought of one positive of the parking garage disaster Shock was. Barely any Maimi. <3
---LOW TIER---
Sayu / Junjun / Chinami
Sayu: I love you. But you can't sing, girl.
Junjun: She really tries, and I can tell..but sometimes your best just isn't good enough. Appreciated her at the end of Nakidasu Kamo Shirenai yo. Saved that jacked up single.
Chinami: Could possibly be higher. She's like Momoko but minus the control. Maybe even plus genkiness? Who's more genki, Momo or Chinami? I NEED ANSWERS!
---EW TIER---
Nakky / Aika
Nakky: Yikes. I like her in Pira! Otome no Negai, mainly because that song is cracked out amazingness. Would have been better if they vocoded all 3 of their vocals. Sometimes she can be good live. And by good I mean sounds like the recorded version, which in reality isn't that good. Whenever she and Mai get joint lines, they're so high pitched I'm worried all of my mirrors are going to break. And if that happened, I would be super pissed.
Aika: Hmm. Not much to say here, except that Aika fans owe me a huge favor for not putting her lower. I think she'll eventually get better at least, and within time could move into low tier.
---OMGWTFBBQ TIER---
Captain / Mai
Captain: Can't sing for shit, lets face it. In the 6th Otakebi Album they gave her the backing chorus in one song, and I'm still wtf over it. It didn't sound bad or anything, probably 'cause I couldn't hear it. Save that for the elite, Tsunku. And when I say elite I don't mean your molester / sports announcer voice. Thanks again. <3
Maimai: Eeeek. Bad, super high pitched. Might improve, but I won't be holding my breath. I do like Maimai as a character though, mainly because she usually looks like she's trying to unsuccessfully cover up her pissed offness. Why so sad, girl?
I guess that's a wrap. Feel free to dispute anything in the comments section, but remember that I'm an expert. If you use new and original gifs, I'll value your opinion much more. =D
