just on my mind today
The Precious
This Distraught Face
I've got ten dollars
And a passion to travel
A desire to up and leave
And ditch all this hassel
This pen and pad, my therapy of choice
I'm writing my way out
Using music and streetnoise
All I can do
Is watch as the cars pass
I'm needing some help here
Just not to be the last to know
crashing and burning
in a sea of pavement
The asphault is cruel here
And I just can't take it
Anymore than I already have
Than I should have to take
And I just can't see clear now
So now as I stand here
And stare out the window
I'm thinking of you more
And the sun sits just so
These shadows are crawling
And falling down doorways
The light is depressing
So I hide in the hallways
So now, here I go
The Rush
Dreaming in arms again tonight
Tonight I want to dream forever
And I can count te snowfalkes on your back
Everytime you turn around to put my arms around you
I don't want this night to end
I don't want this night to end
And when you look into my eyes
I see the promise and surrender
And it all comes rushing back
To that night in late December
And in that night
I felt you so close
Felt you give me so much hope
I don't want this night to end
Can I tell you that I don't want this night to end
And when you look into my eyes
I see the promise and surrender
And it all comes rushing back
To me, to me
And it all comes rushing back
And it all comes rushing back
Now that I have heard those words
How can I be the same again?
Now that I have seen those eyes
How can I be the same again?
I will never walk the same steps
I will never take the same breaths
And this night was ours
And this night was ours forever
And this night was ours forver
Dreaming in your arms again tonight
And I don't wanna dream forver
And I can count the snowflakes on your back
Everytime you turn around to put my arms around you
Undone
And I won't let you live this down
Because I know how careless you can be
You just throw your words around
Like you're standing on some pedistool
As if what you say holds any kind of truth
And don't think I haven't noticed
The way you walk around
Like you own this town
Bite your lip and hold your tongue
Because your ideals are coming undone
Bite your lip and hold your tongue
Because you will soon come undone
How can I believe you now
When every word you speak is a contradiction
You're not so righteous
You're not so much better than me
You're just a hollow shell
There's a living hell where you used to be
You are drowning in your regrets
And you will choke on what you can't forget
You are drowning in your regrets
And you will choke on what you can't forget
You are drowning in your regrets
And you will choke on what you can't forget
Forget me
And what we used to have
You'll be just a memory
That's all I need anyway
