I remember a time when I secretly read a diary entry by my dad. It said something along the lines of "destined to never set foot on U.S. soil."

You see, most of my father's family, his parents and younger siblings, have lived, and even now have families of their own, for more than 20 years in the US. Around the time I was born, he was supposed to join them there, but since he already had my mom and me, he never got there ever since.

Now, I have a chance to go there. Not necessarily to live there, but to do something relevant to my career pursuits, and I just can't believe it. It's something that I really have to work hard to make possible, I can't fathom how, for all the horrible person I am, can even have the luck for such a thing, but nevertheless I am so thankful to even have that chance.

Hopefully, things will work out and I'll be able to share this little journey of mine to you.

To be able to live my father's dream, like he's always wanted me to..
