Tegoshi started noticing something was slightly weird when he found himself very close to Ryo on the couch, and felt Ryo's hand making its way to the back of his neck. The mixture of the shivers he felt with the wine running through his blood made him completely unable to move from that spot, even though he knew it was wrong.

He looked Ryo in the eye, and the older boy stared back, just as affected by the situation, even though he was the one initiating it.

'What are you doing?' Tegoshi asked, feeling the words coming out of his lips slowly, in synchrony with Ryo's fingers.

Ryo didn't say anything, instead he moved even closer and brought Tegoshi's face to his own, keeping it only inches apart. Tegoshi couldn't think clearly anymore; all he felt was the heat coming from Ryo.

'What are you doing?' Tegoshi repeated, but he wasn't sure if the sound of his voice came out.

'Why do you think I invited you here?' Ryo asked, his voice now husky and low. Grabbing Tegoshi's face with both hands, Ryo kissed him tightly on the lips. Tegoshi's initial response was to pull back, but Ryo was still holding on to his face, and only kissed him deeper. He forced his tongue into Tegoshi's mouth, who kissed back, hesitantly but now with no intention to stop.

Tegoshi's mind grew hazy, and he found himself almost in a dream-like state; he knew he should stop, but he just couldn't.

Ryo’s hand creeped under Tegoshi’s shirt as they continued to kiss, and the iciness from the skin contact made Tegoshi instinctively reach out for Ryo's waist and pull him even closer to him so he could feel the heat again.

When Ryo moved one of his hands to Tegoshi's thigh, the younger boy suddenly snapped out of his haziness, breaking the kiss as the awareness of reality cleared the fog out of his head.

Ryo blinked, frustrated at the sudden stop. Tegoshi looked at him in the eyes, deeply, without knowing what to say, because he didn't know what he was feeling.

Ryo took a deep breath and got up slowly, rubbing his eyes with both hands.

'I'm sorry.' He said in a low voice.

Tegoshi's lips parted, but no words came out. He grabbed his things and left.

The next day during rehearsal, Tegoshi was having a hard time making eye contact with anyone. He would catch Ryo's eyes every once in a while, and find that the older boy had been staring at him without even realizing it.

He didn't talk to Massu that much during the day, and the few words he said only made his guilt grow inside of him, and he would excuse himself to go to the bathroom every time he felt like it was too much to handle.

The events of the night before were still swirling around his head, and the fact that his anniversary with Massu was on the next day wasn't helping matters either. He wished he could understand what he was feeling, but every time he tried he would just become more confused.

Yamapi stayed behind after rehearsal to talk to his manager about his next solo single. He tried very patiently to pay attention during the meeting, but his mind kept going back to the look on Massu's face earlier on. He looked absolutely miserable, and he couldn't help but notice that him and Tegoshi barely talked all day.

After the meeting, he decided to follow his instincts about what exactly was going on, and he drove straight to Ryo's house.

He knocked on the door and after a few minutes Ryo answered it, looking like he had just woken up.

'What are doing here?' He asked Yamapi, confused.

'Can I come in?' Yamapi asked, already making his way inside. They had been in each other's homes so many times already that it felt natural.

Ryo closed the door and sat on the couch with Yamapi, drinking out of a water bottle.

'You looked kind of tense in rehearsal.' Yamapi said, raising an eyebrow.

Ryo shrugged his shoulders in response.

'So you're not gonna tell me?' Yamapi insisted, crossing his arms.

'Tell you what?' Ryo asked, making sure to avoid Yamapi's dark eyes.

'About your date with Tegoshi.' He said, sounding strangely casual.

Ryo looked up at him slowly, suddenly beginning to feel very angry and defensive.

'My date with Tegoshi?' He repeated. As awkward as the conversation was getting, hearing those words out loud made Ryo feel very warm inside.

'Ryo, what are you doing?' Yamapi asked, trying to contain the disapproval tone of his voice. 'I know you've had a thing for him since forever, but he's with Massu.'

'I know that.' Ryo said bitterly. 'I know it.'

Tegoshi wanted to bury his head somewhere. Massu was happily eating his pasta, but none of them were saying a word. For what was supposed to be a romantic anniversary dinner, it looked more like a funeral with good food.

'So...you like it?' Tegoshi asked, eating some of it himself.

Massu nodded his head fervently.

'I didn't know you could cook like this.' Massu said, smiling.

Tegoshi scratched his head, smiling, too.

'Ah, well, Nishikido-kun taught me that recipe.' He said, barely above a whisper.

'Really?' Massu asked, surprised. 'When?'

'A few days ago.' Tegoshi said, already regretting the fact that he had said anything. The last thing he needed at that moment was to remember that night.

'Well, it's really good.'

That night after dinner, they decided to watch a movie, and while Tegoshi laid in bed with Massu and cuddled up against him, he couldn't help but imagine, just for a few seconds, that Ryo was there with him instead.

~

The next morning, Massu got a weird text message from Yamapi. It said 'Meet me in front of the studio in 1 hour :)'

Massu thought it was weird for two reasons: the first one being that Yamapi never sent him text messages, unless it was a special occasion, and the second one being that when he did, he never used smiling faces or anything of the sort.

Massu arrived just in time, and a few minutes later Yamapi pulled up in his car and signaled Massu to come inside. He did as he was told and got on the passengers seat.

'Hey.' Massu said cheerfully, buckling up his seat belt. 'What's going on?'

'We're gonna get some ice cream.' Yamapi said simply, starting the car.

'...ok.' Massu said, slightly confused. 'Are we meeting the others there?'

'No, it's just us today.' Yamapi said, smiling.

They arrived at the ice cream place and sat down, and Yamapi ordered a huge amount of ice cream for them to try, so much that it surprised even Massu.

'I'm hungry.' Yamapi explained calmly.

Massu smiled back, feeling a light sensation take over his body.

The first batch of ice cream arrived, and Yamapi watched Massu as he ate. Even though the younger boy had been in a weird mood lately, at that moment Yamapi felt he was exuding a child-like happiness that made it seem like everything was okay.

'So, how's everything?' Yamapi asked tentatively.

Massu looked up, licking his plastic spoon.

'Okay, I guess.' He said. He never felt comfortable sharing his private life with his band members. The only one who he always had that freedom with was Tegoshi, because they had always been best friends, but once they crossed that line from friends to something more, he felt like they lost that privilege.

'You can tell me.' Yamapi said, waiting. Massu looked down, then up again, trying to figure out how to say it.

'Well, things have been kind of weird with Tegoshi lately.'

'Oh. Why?' Yamapi asked, suddenly feeling guilty. He wanted to share his suspicions, but his loyalty to Ryo came first.

'I don't know. It's like we're not that close anymore.'

Yamapi thought to himself before answering.

'But he's your best friend.'

'I think that's the problem. I mean, at first...' Massu paused to eat more ice cream. He felt it fueled his courage. '...it fell really...right. And now I miss how things were. I guess sometimes it gets complicated. When you cross that line. I mean, try to picture yourself dating Nishikido-kun.'

Yamapi chuckled at the thought, and Massu laughed a little, too. Yamapi felt that the point Massu was making made a lot of sense.

'I guess I understand.' Yamapi said, now trying very hard to get the mental picture out of his head. 'Maybe you should just talk to him about it.'

'I guess I should.' Massu said, watching the rest of ice cream melt on his bowl.
