I miss you, Kim Manners
I didn't get to watch Supernatural last night. I tried SO HARD, but it just wasn't possible. Comcast had messed up some channels locally, and the CW was one of them. x.x The video was actually skipping, like a shitty video online. x.x It made it REALLY hard to watch. Mari and I sat through half of it, and then gave up. I'll have to make myself watch it this weekend, I guess. x.x
Of course, I would have watched the rest even like that if it didn't look like - even halfway through the episode - that it was possibly the worst episode they've ever made for the show. x.x Maybe the second half of the episode was better... but I really doubt anything could make it THAT much better. :\ Honestly, I was embarrassed to be watching it. So... so horribly embarrassed. -_-

Kripke: LOOK GUISE! META IS SO WITTY! LOOK HOW WITTY I AM! THIS ENTIRE EPISODE IS ABOUT FANDOM! TEE HEE! META! META META META! I AM ONE CLEVER LAD!
Me: D: SHUT UP. I KNOW. META IS GREAT. META IS COOL. But why is this the SECOND EPISODE IN A ROW that exists ONLY to be CLEVER and have META?! OHHHHHHHHH. Is it because you realized how bad your writing has become and how much you bastardized Dean and this is you trying to stick a pretty pink bandaid on it? Ohhhhhhhhhh. THAT DOESN'T FIX IT.
I miss when Dean was a badass who drove a muscle car and boned women and drank beer and listened to classic rock. Remember THAT Dean? He was in the first two seasons... yeah. THAT Dean.
THIS Dean is fandom!Dean. I think fandom!Dean KILLED the real Dean. The BEGINNING of this season looked promising, like maybe they were going to FIX the fact that Dean was a 13 year old girl now. And I thought hey, I'll give Kripke the benefit of the doubt, this looks like maybe we're moving in that direction!
INSTEAD, it got WORSE. D: NOOOOOO. Dean, why do you cry?! Do you know how often I cry with heartfelt emotion?! NOT OFTEN. NOT OFTEN AT ALL. Seriously, THINK about how often you cry like THAT. So rarely. x.x Like a couple times a YEAR maybe. And I'm a 26 year old FEMALE with all sorts of psychological issues! I have PTSD and an anxiety disorder and bipolar b... you'd THINK that Dean wouldn't cry EVERY DAY if I don't. BUT HE DOES. And as for "He went through a lot, he was in HELL, of COURSE he's upset!" ... that's such bullshit. The more traumatized people are the LESS they show it. A truly traumatized person wouldn't CRY ALL THE TIME. He should be in SHOCK. ARGH.
I miss my show. x.x I hate hate HATE that fandom has taken over. Kripke is a WHORE who'll do ANYTHING for fandom's love, even bastardizing Dean and making him the biggest girl in the WORLD. Maybe it also has something to do with how gay Jensen is. I don't know. Whatever the cause, it's terrible. >_<
Yes, I realize that Kripke's main motivation on these last two episodes was "OOPS. We sort of made Dean into a hormonal teenage girl. We should fix that. Hmmm I guess we could simply start writing better, but you know what would be WAY MORE FUN? Doing TWO ENTIRE EPISODES that are nothing but META and making silly jokes about how much the show sucks lately! And hey, why not put in stuff about fandom?! THEN THE FANS WILL LOVE ME AND ACCEPT ME AND I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT THEIR ADMIRATION."

Not that I'll stop watching. I love Dean and Castiel and Sam... I'll keep watching, even if it's just to see them slowly sink into bad writing and shitty episodes and over-wraught drama. But I'll be ANGRY about it, damnit.

I miss the monsters and the ghosts and the horror. I miss being SCARED when I watch Supernatural. I miss watching a show about two guys in a muscle car with guns in the back and classic rock playing on the radio.
If I wanted to watch a bunch of girls bicker and cry I'd be watching Gossip Girl or something. But I'm not. I've been watching Supernatural since Mari first showed it to me halfway through season 2. I remember being excited every week for it, and anticipating what would happen, and being SCARED after at least HALF of the episodes. I miss that. :(
Until the show improves (if it does, oh god it better) I'm not even going to recommend it to anyone. I was GOING to show it to Jamie, but... if it's going to be like THIS then I can't really recommend it without feeling like a dick. x.x "Here, get on this sinking ship!" Ehhhhhhh.
I know that fandom will accept Supernatural no matter what it does or how bad it gets, but... I guess I'm not that kind of fan. :\
Thank the lord for Dollhouse. The lord being Joss Whedon. He has his problems, but fuck... at least his shows make me THINK and have interesting dialogue and solid characters who don't weep like children every five fucking minutes. I <3 U, Dollhouse. Please don't ever leave me. ;-;

PS: Stephen King has done the "author who meets creations but really he didn't create them, he's just channeling their stories" thing. He's done it a FEW times. He did it better than you, Kripke. STOP STEALING FROM OTHER PEOPLE. If you MUST do that, at least make it SLIGHTLY less obvious. At least don't have him be JUST LIKE the characters in Stephen King's stuff that do that. Did you really have to steal it RIGHT DOWN TO THE BATHROBE?!?!?! AUGH.
