QaF con whut
The USA QaF con happened and I didn't go. I was really torn about it, I could have planned way in advance, but... I am sure that it would not have been a welcoming environment for a Brian/Michael fan. :\ If even the LJ groups aren't I doubt the con would be.
But then... Hal wasn't even invited.
Yeah. The main character wasn't invited to the convention about his show. And even if you want to call him not THE main character, as that's arguable since it's an ensemble cast, he's clearly ONE of them. I mean, until season 5 he's certainly more featured than Lindsay and Melanie. Of course, they apparently didn't invite Thea or Sharon either, which is Lindsay and Debbie. I can see not inviting Sharon as she's clearly the most expensive person and apparently it was due to financial limits. And I guess if you aren't going to invite someone, Thea is a decent choice? :\ No offense to Lindsay and Melanie, but it seems to me not inviting either of them would make more sense than not inviting Hal... especially since QaF fandom is pretty much centered around the guys.
Still, I know that it's because most people that would go to this event aren't Hal fans, so why pay for him to go? ...Because it's sad that the guy wasn't even invited to the convention for a show he was arguably the - or at least one of the - main characters. At least I didn't miss out on anything huge that would have bummed me out. Also, Gale had a beard, so... less to leer at, too. XP
