Where contribution to the society is concerned...

After much debating (at the Bedok hawker centre) recently after being approached, I have decided to do my part by signing up for monthly donation of a "token" sum to the Singapore Cancer Society. Token meaning it is a small amount, right at the bottom of the list.

Ticket to heaven? Somehow, I doubt it's that easy but it is certainly a bit of chicken soup for the soul. Furthermore, now, when a social worker coming up to speak to me about donation to a charity organization, I can say "Donate already. Already donating.".

On a side note, I didn't realise how much of a commitment this is. When I was signing up, the dude in charge repeatedly reminded me that it would be an ongoing commitment. When another dude called me to verify my details, again came the reminder. Yes yes, I am aware. The contract does say monthly, after all.

So now, I am $XX poorer but X% of a better person every month.

Am such a cheap skate. : p
