Weekend update
OH, so work has begun...............ugg
So I'm teaching the 8th grade this year, and the honors classes, and the magnet courses. It pays to be the Department Chair......and well
OMG it's too easy.........the kids who want to learn........ahhhhhhhhhhh...........plus regular kids thrown into the mix. I asked that they spread them out, and make it 5 honors courses instead of 4. It seems to be working already, because my regular students that I selected to go into these classes are 1, really impressed with themselves, and 2 are rising to the level. There is only 1 student I worry about making the real effort, and really there are some really lazy honors kids who've had it too easy for too long. At any rate, yes, it's easy
Union issues are huge, in case you don't know our district switched payroll systems last January, and they have not given everyone a normal check yet, and the issues are only getting worse. So I've been busy with all these problems, and than on top of that, all the opening issues that we normally have. I want to close my classroom and hide.
So work was work, but Friday I went to the Magic Kingdom for some relaxation, and yes the tourists have left so we are back to very very short lines, which is really nice. Plus the heat finally left SoCal, and our regular mid 70's weather has returned. All is right with the world......
Went and saw 3:10 to Yuma and loved it. Of course Mr. Bale is too hot for words. It was a good western, and really in the scheme of things fairly unique, at least nothing like I've seen as far as westerns go. I'm not that big on westerns, so it could be a rehash of something else, but I liked it and that is all that really matters in the Public Opinion of Ryan.
Sunday had dinner with some friends and fellow witches, and it was very nice. We had a great conversation.............
Sunday also was the day that the agency in England contacted me and wanted to know if I still wanted a job in the UK, and well, of course I sent all the paperwork in to get the visa and all that junk right away. I'm anxious to hear back, they even have started asking about when I want to come over for some of the interviews.................OMG...............could it really be happening that I might soon find myself in LONDON, teaching...........ahhh
Well I'll let you know how it goes with that, the process moves VERY VERY slowly............
