Still no hot water. Plumber turned up on Saturday, took a look, realised he needed parts, then failed to turn up on Tuesday morning, due to an emergency callout.
Normally I'd find this highly dubious, but first of all it's a mate of my old man's and second, I haven't paid anything this far, so I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Dropped a spectacular bollock this morning - cycled into work, got there about 8:25am feeling good for being in a bit earlier than I thought... went to grab a quick shower only to find that I'd forgotten to put my work shirt and trousers in the bag! So it's back on the bike, a sprint back home to pick up my threads, back into work, a super-fast shower and I'm in the office by 9:00... not too bad, only my pride damaged.
Things are going pretty well with the new place - it's intense and the days are long but because I have company (good company too) and I'm in an office, it's not too bad. Plus I get a variety of stuff thrown at me so I can chop and change. And my boss is what I call a "positive boss" (as opposed to the last two, who were "negative bosses") - he compliments when things get done.
Did a days training (company, not karate unfortunately) yesterday down in Oxford. That was a long day, but I'm in better shape as a result.
And the best news is that Rayners have thrown in the towel - got paperwork from them on our rights as a management company, so it's now just a matter of process... with that in mind, not having hot water or making a total prat of myself this morning doesn't seem so bad...
