I feel a bit better today, but I still don't want to go anywhere. I can at least function.
My computer was dead again this morning and when I restarted it, it couldn't find my new(er) hard drive. "Great," I thought. "Brand new hard drive's toast already? ALL my data is on that!"
I pulled the cover off and vacuumed out the dust bunnies. Thought about all the times I've had trouble with this machine and what fixed it. Wiggling the IDE cable, replugging it didn't help. So I dug out a spare and replaced it.
So far, so good. We'll see if this fixes the other problems I've been having.
It's going to be a problem if I can't work for more than a few minutes without it crashing. I sincerely hope I don't have to reformat it - again.
