These "Hand Charmers" are strangely fascinating.* In green, they almost look like seaweed. Organic. Elfin, perhaps.
Converting this pattern to crochet would be a breeze - there's nothing crochet excels at better than openwork.
The tricky bit would be making the solid part without it becoming too bulky or stiff. The pattern uses sock yarn, which needs an F hook (or it splits WAY too much). That would be too big to get the proper effect. Fingering yarn? Lace-weight? Thread, even?
Ooooo...can you imagine something like this in a fine shiny rayon thread for a wedding?
