She concentrates a moment, then shakes her head. "I still can't contact Washuu. Something is definitely wrong." Ryoko's actually trembling at the memories this situation brings up. She had changed to her battlesuit as they passed through the door, but that just made the memories stronger.
"We can't stay here. We'll go that way, but we'll go around. If someone's watching, then we're already made." Ryoko grips Ben's waist. "Mind if we fly?"
Once again, she's grateful to have Ben with her. Ryoko is also angry about having gotten him into this kind of danger. Time for that later, hopefully.
The light they're approaching is very bright, especially in the almost tangible dark. The closer they get, even as she circles them around the side to the back, the more detail they get. A small figure is moving under the light, waving frantically. The pink hair is difficult to mistake.
"There she is!" Changing to a direct line, Ryoko takes them down to ground level as they approach the scientist's figure.
They're close enough to notice that Washuu is waving at them, beckoning, but the angle is all wrong. She's not looking at them, but off to the side. Washuu's darkly sunken eyes are filled with panic. She's gesturing for them to 'come back' but why would she do that if they are approaching?
"Ryo, can you rip off that whole thing OFF the floor?" Because Ben is thinking a quick fast retreat, or the revelation of the trap, might be the best next step. "Break the floor under it? I think it's a trap, if we touch or get too close."
"Shit, its a trap! Move!" He points to one side, while jumping to the other. Idea one, not make it easy for whoever is doing this to catch both at once.
It's barely in time, as electricity crackles in the spot they had been a moment before. The image of Washuu is suddenly gone, along with the light. Back where they had originally entered the lab was the prison holding the scientist; now it seems far away indeed.
No time for Ryoko to ponder, though, as 'bots materialize next to her, reaching out to try and catch her, missing by milliseconds as she 'ports out of their grasp, summoning her sword to cut them into pieces.
The previously featureless plain had indeed sprouted all sorts of machinery; most stationary, some moving to attack. The flashing lights and tremors behind Ben indicate a fairly intense battle. He's being ignored by nearly all the machines, until he's close to Washuu's prison. Two metal arms make a grab for him.
Washuu gestures to Ben, now looking directly at him, warning him of the reaching appendages.
Ben smirks, almost cocky, sliding under the arms, rolling back to his feet and continueing. he is used to running and avoiding things bigger than himself, so these machines will not have an easy time with him. While he moves, he observes the tube where Washuu is trapped, looking for anything that resembles a key, lock, keypad, anything.
No locking mechanism, and there must be some other way for Washuu to breathe, because it seems to be solidly sealed at both ends. The little scientist looks awful, but she's pointing at four machines that are aimed at her, making smashing motions.

The look on Washuu's face was disturbing. More so was the way she still acted like they weren't any closer.
"Screw this." Ryoko summons an energy sphere and fired it directly at Washuu.
A flicker is all the reaction they get as the blast passes right through, striking the ground beyond and exploding.
"Shit, it's a fake!"

Damn, he wishes he had his sword.

Washuu is trying to communicate something. Maybe that pile of pipes has something to do with it.
