So....I auditioned for a cabaret evening that the musical theatre group are putting on in Bristol. I just wanted to do some proper singing, no guitar and acoustic stuff, but big musical numbers. And when I went for the audition, I put that I was happy being in the chorus and that I would be happy doing solos, duets, trios, quartets...whatever really. Cos I thought it'd be fun to do a bit of all of them.

So I got in, but as far as I can see the only song I get to do is in a quartet... no solos, when it seems that other people have about 3 solos/duets etc. I guess I'm just a little disappointed cos I would have liked to do something a little bigger than a small part in one song and chorus work, cos I've done nothing else this year.

Groups like this are always clique-ey too, I recognise the names of the people doing solos, cos they're the same people that have been in everything this year.

Ah well. Hopefully it'll be a fun break from revision anyway.

(I also notice that there are two songs from 'Wicked' in the lineup, and I would have absolutely *loved* to do them, as I am constantly singing all the songs from Wicked. Maybe I should have hinted at it in my audition...but that would have seemed lame. Gah.)
