I Now Prounce You....Dan and Wife

Yesturday was a very special day.
Tomorrow will bring many more special times to come...

A very special moment in time for my dear friends Chris and Dan, as they celebrate their vows on Saturday afternoon; shared amungst their beloved friends and family members. The ceramony took place in a quaint meeting hall near their house, with a grand garden patio. Unfortunetly, due to a rainy morning, the ceramony was moved indoors and doubled up as the reception area. Doug and Traci attended in style! Doug had on a fadora with tight jeans that you could see....umm, well...Traci had on a beautiful blue top with her trade mark short black skirt (how you doin'). Secret was there with her well mannered son, and surprisingly enough DJ Mark also made an appearance.
Little J was also in attendance with a rather nice tan suit that made him look much like a young professor (foreshadowing??); while I was honored to participate in the ceramonies as the wedding singer (Adam Sandler, eat your heart out). Honestly, I was nervous the entire time, with such a huge responcibility on my shoulders to make their moment in time a memorable one. What's even more terrifying was the DJ being stuck in traffic until five minuets before the wedding started (no time for practice, guess you're going to have to wing it, buddy).
The ceremony turned out beautifully. Chris walked down the aisle like a floating angel (must see the photos). Dan looked very much the part of a proud groom taking Chris as his loving partner for all the world to witness. Chris' brothers looked the part of two bodyguards walking her down the aisle (maybe that's why she looked like she was floating). And as much as I would like to say nothing could have been better...my own performance could have been voted the weakest link (I'm my own worse critic). I performed "You Raise Me Up," by Josh Groben, and I'm not saying I cracked or ran off stage, but let's just say - practice would have made perfect...especially if I knew where the music was starting at (sheepish grin). No blames or guilt really, just a perfectionist wishing to go back in time and redo the first verse of the song while the music was playing a little louder. In astonishment, no one picked up on it (or hid it well), while coming up afterwards and complimenting me with joyful tears). Robin, Chris' mother, gave me the most praise...and I can't be more greatful for such a wonderful fan.
After the ceramony, most everyone went outside for garden pictures. It was amaizing to have all our Karaoke friends (FAMILY) together for such a memorable event. The photos were great, and I still enjoy the ones with Chris in her long gown in the gardens. At one point, I jokingly took Doug's fadora and did a really bad Frank Sanatra impression...but the photos tell a very different story (and to date they seem to be my favorite). Inside during the reception, we all took our seats at the tables, and of course we had the "Bleachers" table. Each table had personalized cameras to take funny and heartfelt photos (along with photo albums to take home for suveniers). Little J and I had quite a bit of fun with those. During dinner, Little J gave up on eating one more time...guess Chris should have ordered one side of cheese sticks during the planning stages.
After a lovely cutting of the cakes (bride's and groom's), Dan and Chris had fun throwing the bouque; while we guys had a real blast trying to figure out how to catch the garder belt (went right over my head and all us bachelors just stared at it on the ground until Secret's little boy came by and picked it up with a BIG grin on his face). Someone was seriously sending it to America's Home Videos.
Then came the dance that no one danced to. Let me tell you, this almost bumped me up from being the weakest link. It was like Jr. High prom all over again, where the guys stayed on one side, and the girls on the other. At one point, Chris said "Frack It" and went out there with a girl-friend and started clog dancing. Shortly after she manipulated Little J and I to join in, and by the time Disco was on we had a dance group. I also got to dance with Chris' maid of honor, who actually was quite attractive and could definetly wear red (how you doin'). In a bit of a disapointing confession, Little J had asked me to dance with him, but I felt uncomfortable with the idea. It was later that night that Chris said most everyone there knew about us and she made a rule, "They're my friends and they can do what they want at my wedding." I thought that was very thoughtful, but I lost my opportunity because I waited too long (sorry Kiddo).
After a long set of dance numbers, the evening died down and a hand full of us volunteers cleaned up while the cute couple went home to change. Little J and I grabbed what alcohol we could (FREE BEER). Funny thing...that beer stayed in our fridge for weeks afterwards, until slowly our guests would drink it for us...guess you can't call us alocholics!! LOL.

Congratulations to Dan and Chris for finally tying the knott...literally, it was a very nice braid I might add. We wish you the very best!
