[Mod] Ficolate exchange - round 3; rules!
The time has come again for
♥ Valentine’s ficolate exchange! ♥
Goal: Give and receive your own personal fic wrapped in sweet chocolate treat!
How: This event copies the typical anonymous exchange concept (such as je_holiday or je_whiteday), but customizes it to our needs - making it a bit simpler, short and sweet. The writing time is shorter, but there’s also a smaller word limit and the sign-up is less complicated. So don’t be afraid!
Basics:
The author signing up is expected to write a RyoDa story. A drabble is okay, but if you want to go wild and write an epic 10k story, go ahead!
Every writer will be assigned a recipient, who will specify at least three prompts to choose from.
The writer shall use one of the prompts and write a story for the recipient. The story will be posted on Valentine’s day (secret Valentine, anyone?).
In return, someone will do the same for you.
All fics will be posted anonymously, and reveals will come in a week’s time.
Detailed instructions:
This is a RyoDa fic/drabble exchange. Fanfics should focus on RyoDa. Other J&A idols (or anyone else) may appear as background characters (in accordance to the recipient’s wishes), but the central focus should be on Ryo and Ueda.
RyoDa romance or friendship, it’s up to you. Genre wise, it’s a Valentine’s exchange, so I would love to see some happy ficcing. However, if your recipient gives you a prompt that is really angsty, then go ahead and write Valentine’s angst ;D
The fic must have at least 500 words. There is no maximum.
The fic needs to be beta-read. If you can’t find a beta, I might be able to help you out.

I cannot stress this rule enough. Past years’ participants know that I actually did check the fics and made sure the grammar is acceptable (e.g. good enough for me not to find mistakes). I will not eat you and I will work with you to fix the problems, but let’s try to prevent as much of them as possible.
This exchange is anonymous. Do not contact your recipient or reveal your identity before reveals are up. Also refrain from sharing your fic elsewhere before the reveals.
Once completed, your fics should be sent to ryodalove.mods[at]gmail.com.
Some more things to be noted:
* How loosely you use the chosen prompt is up to you, but try to utilize it one way or another.
* Use proper grammar, spelling, and clarity in both your fic and your request.
* Include complete HTML tags and header (tip: preview as a private post in your journal before submitting). The code for expected header will be emailed when assignments go out.
* Deadlines are there to be met!

Assignment sent: January 8th , 2011
Fics Due: February 9th, 2011
Posting: February 14th
Reveals: February 21th
About paring people up: this is RyoDa exchange only and the sign-ups are simple, so it should be pretty easy. Once again I am going be mostly just pulling your names out of a hat like past years, correcting only glaring errors of the faith. Let the fortune decide!

The poll showed some interest in this event, so I hope the people who voted won’t let me and this pairing down. How successful or how much of a failure this exchange will be is entirely up to you. I will not advertise this sign up post anymore, or remind you in any way that you should participate. I want to keep this simple, easy, that´s why there is a low words limit, a very short sign up form. The more people sing up, the more lovely fictions you will get to read on February 14th.
