Summary: Ueda asks a question and Ryo replies with a simple question …

A/N : nice writing Ryoda again x3!! I hope the secret makes sense ( the secret I chose came after illogical thinking about an answer)

The beautiful boxer slumped onto the couch and leaned against his boyfriend, feet resting on top of the armrest. Ryo didn’t even flinch at the sudden weight pressing against his side, too busy trying to think up some lyrics for his new solo.
Ueda flipped casually through the pages of a magazine he had picked up, stopping once in a while to skim over some articles that were not as boring as the rest. After a few minutes, Ryo broke the silence by sighing heavily while rubbing his temples as if that would help him gain some inspiration.
He looked over at his side, where Ueda’s head laid and, at that exact moment, the latter decided to ask him a question.
“Ryo, what’s the secret behind my appeal?”
The younger stared at the mass of hair next to his shoulder, since Ueda’s face was not visible to him.
“What’s with this all of a sudden?”
“Just a quiz title in the magazine I’m reading.” Ueda shrugged.
“Did Bakanishi forget one of his girly magazines at our place again?” Ryo asked knitting his eyebrows.
“He didn’t forget any of them, he is too lazy to carry them back to his place after reading them.” Ueda answered. ”So… ?What’s the secret?”
“Well, if it’s a secret, then… how should I know!” Ryo chuckled and Ueda threw him a sideway glare.
“Oh, come on, Tat-chan, you actually want me to answer that lame-ass question?” the younger whined.
Ueda turned his head and Ryo knew by the serious expression on the other’s face, that the answer was affirmative.
Ryo sighed.
“Do you want one of those "because you are pretty" answers?” he asked looking down at his boyfriend with a bored look on his face. Ueda decided he would just press his elbow against the other’s side as an answer, making the younger groan. (action speaks better than words)
“Work with me then.” Ryo said. “Don’t you have any ideas?”
“Well…since at first we didn’t get along well- to the point of you hating me… Maybe it’s something about what I changed…?” The older started sitting up straight. Ryo just looked at him confused.
“You know… like the change in my physical appearance.” He added for clarification.
“So basically, you mean to say that I’m a shallow bastard who finds you appealing because you changed, what? Your hair colour?” Ryo scoffed.
“That’s not the only thing…” Ueda pouted. “There’s also… hm…” he stared back at his boyfriend.
“As you put it : ‘hm’, so it’s not about the physical changes you made.”
“Then… because, unlike the past, I am friendlier, more outgoing and confident and I opened up to people?”
“…You actually think you are like that?” Ryo asked with such sincerity… it earned him a punch in the shoulder.
“Then WHAT in the world made me appealing in your eyes?!” Ueda snapped.” I mean, if you hated me at the beginning and to you I haven’t changed at all, then what was it that made me attractive to you? Or …” Ueda trailed off staring at his boyfriend. ” …I think I get it now.” He smiled gently. “It’s because you never hated me!” He grinned.
“Well, yeah, hate is a strong word… I just didn’t like you.” Ryo stated and Ueda dropped his gentle expression glaring furiously at the other. The younger- typically himself- laughed in the face of danger (aka, Ueda’s fist).
“Oh, come on, Ueda. Don’t you know? The answer is simple. And it’s not about you, it’s me.” He smiled.
Ueda just crossed his arms looking pissed.
“What the fuck, Ryo? That line sounds as if you are breaking up with me.” Ueda rolled his eyes.
The younger just chuckled.
“Ok, ok… I’ll ask you this: why do mothers think their children are the best? Even if they are idiots.”
“Because they are theirs.” The older stated.
“That’s true. But what else does that imply?…be more specific.”
“Ok… Because-… they are screwed up delusional creatures?”
Ryo gave him a ‘are you serious?’ look and Ueda sighed.
“How should I know! I mean, isn’t it natural if you love your…”
“Bingo!” Ryo interrupted grinning cheerfully. “Because they LOVE them. Even if they are psychopaths, they love them and in their eyes they are perfect! So…do you know the answer now?” Ryo asked smiling softly.
“You like me because… I’m a psychopath…?” Ueda looked at the other with a bemused expression.
Ryo’s face fell. Was it him or did time seem to be going by extremely slow that evening.
He cupped his boyfriend’s cheeks, pressing slightly until creating that(more than usual) fish-lip effect.
“Well, I am not going to deny you aren’t one.” He started. “ But the key word is -LOVE- you unbelievably SLOW person, LOVE!” he said pressing his lips forcefully onto the others.” I didn’t like you so you weren’t appealing. But now I LOVE YOU and you are SO DAMN SEXY to me right now, I can eat.you.up!” Ryo drawled and bit at the other’s chin playfully making Ueda giggle.
“But I don’t get it, WHY do you love me? You can’t love me FOR LOVING ME.” Ueda pushed the other softly back into the couch, to crawl onto his lap.
“That was never the question. The secret behind your appeal, remember? Well to me, I find you appealing because I love you. Why I love you is something else. And!” he interrupted seeing Ueda was going to ask another question. “Don’t ask me why I love you because I won’t be able to give you a proper answer. Such feelings don’t have answers.”
“But I wasn’t going to ask you that” Ueda said. “I already know the answer to THAT. “ he smirked and Ryo looked up at his boyfriend straddling his lap.
“You do?...” he asked trying to remember having answered that question.
“Yeah, we agreed on it, remember? It’s because…” Ueda leaned towards the other with a soft expression, wrapping his arms around his neck and letting Ryo’s hands circle his waist.
“It’s because I’m yours.” he said honestly before pecking his boyfriend on the lips. When he pulled back, they remained gazing lovingly at each other.
