Title: A Place In The Sun

Summary: Ueda finds himself on a bus going to who-knows-where, and his traveling partner is none other than Nishikido. What do the summer and this trip have in store for them?
Warnings: Nothing really, except for some silliness and maybe some out of character… and maybe some bad grammar and misspelling.

A/N: SORRY FOR THE LATE UPDATE! It's bee over a week since I last update and I'm sorry for that, I've been really extremely busy but I have managed to write some for you. This will probably be the pace I will continue to update, with more than a week between the updates… but I will really do try my best to update more often…

When Ueda and Ryo got back up from the water a while later the first thing Ueda did was to check his phone to see what time it was and got surprised to find a new text message from Junno. Why would Junno who was right there with him been sending him a text message? He opened it with confusion and curiosity and the second he had taken in what it said a slight blush started to crawl up on his cheeks.
- You and Nishikido-kun make a cute couple, Ganbatte! I'm happy for you (^O^)
When had Junno figured out that they were now a real couple? Cause that was what he meant right? It couldn't be just teasing since Junno definitely wasn't a person to do that. At least not waste money on sending him a message about it. He must've figured it out but how could he have done it? Junno who can't even read the atmosphere around him. Ueda glanced over from his phone and down to the water where Junno was still playing around with Yamapi, Kame and Jin. He couldn't believe Junno had figured it out, but then again that guy is and has always been kind of a mystery to Ueda.
"What's up?" Ryo's voice cut through Ueda's thoughts and he turned his head to face Ryo. Shige who had stayed on dry land reading instead of taking a swim in the sea turned his head slightly towards the couple.
"Nothing" Ueda answered as he noticed how Shige was listening in on them.
"Are you sure?" Ryo asked in a low voice leaning in closer and Ueda figured Ryo must've noticed Shige's bad attempt at eavesdropping on them.
"I'll tell you later" Ueda whispered back and his eyes once again glanced over at Junno down in the water. Ryo smiled and gave him a nod, telling him that he was satisfied with the reply.
"So what should we do tonight?" Ryo asked changing the topic and he started to shuffle around in the sand with his hands, letting some sand slip through his fingers.
"I dunno, dinner with the rest of the group?" Ueda suggested copying Ryo's actions and started to play with the sand. "We haven't really been out eating with them since the day we arrived here"
"Yeah" Ryo nodded and then turned his head towards Shige "Hey, Shige? What do you wanna do tonight?"
"Huh?" Shige replied startled over the sudden invitation to join in on the conversation.
"What do you suggest we do tonight?" Ryo repeated his question smiling slightly at Shige's startled expression.
"Oh… uh…" Shige started but cut off by Jin before he could even give a full answer to the question. Jin and the others had made it up from the water to join the others on dry land.
"Let's party tonight!" Jin said grinning like crazy as he threw himself down between Ryo and Ueda, putting his arms around their necks. "Let's get drunk and have fun!"
"Get off me" Ryo complained and pushed Jin's arm away but Jin didn't seem to take of notice it.
"Yeah, let's party!" Yamapi agreed lying down on his towel.
"But it's only Tuesday" Shige butted in. "Isn't it better if we just go for a nice dinner?"
"But we're on vacation" Jin said jumping back upon his feet. "And when you are on vacation you can party every day since you don't have work to worry about, right? So let's party!"
"I'm in" Junno smiled looking up from his Nintendo DS that he hadn't failed to bring with him to the beach. The rest of the group was up to it as well, and they decided to retreat to the hotel in an hour to get a hold of the others and prepare for the party that once again was to take place in Yamapi's and Junno's room.
"What should we buy?" Ryo asked a few hours later as he and Ueda had been sent out by the others to get the snacks and the alcohol. They were standing in front of the shelf filled with alcohol in a small grocery store both with baskets in their hands.
"Some beer" Ueda said and placed three six-packs of beer in his basket making the basket almost tip over but he managed to keep its balance.
"Yeah, and some tequila, I'm up for taking shots tonight" Ryo said taking down a bottle and put it in his basket.
"Take a couple of bottles of wines as well" Ueda said and grabbed two bottles of wine and put it in Ryo's basket as well. "Kame would want some of that I'm sure"
"Yeah, should we get anything more? Vodka maybe?" Ryo said holing up a bottle in front of them. "We could mix it with some kind of soft drink"
"Yeah, take the bottle and lets go and grab some snacks" Ueda smiled and then lead the way to find what they wanted but before he found the snacks department he stopped in front of a shelf filled with different kinds of chocolate. He eyed the packages in front of him before he grabbed a few and put them in his basket. He had suddenly felt the urge for chocolate and the others, especially Nakamaru, would probably not complain about it.
"Chocolate?" Ryo asked quizzical as he stopped behind Ueda and eyed his basket.
"Yeah" Ueda simply smiled and then continued walking towards the snacks.
"Don't you get enough endorphins from me?" Ryo smirked placing his hand on Ueda's shoulder end leaned his head against the others as they stopped in front of the snacks.
"Of course I do, but I wasn't only thinking about myself" Ueda said turning his head slightly to meet Ryo's eyes with a smile. "I was thinking of everybody else who's not in lo- uh, I mean is in a relationship at the moment. They could maybe do with an extra kick of endorphins, and Nakamaru is a sucker for chocolate"
"Aw, you're always so considerate" Ryo smirked before letting go of Ueda and grabbed a few bags of crisps and other kinds of snacks. "Now let's get some soft drinks and then get out of here"
They could hear as soon as they were standing outside their friend's room that the party had already started. They could hear music and laughter sip out through the door and Ueda was surprised that none of the other guests had came up to complain yet. But maybe it was just too early for anybody to be complaining over the noises yet since it was only 9 in the evening. Yeah they had decided, or rather Yamapi and Jin had decided that they should start early.
"Do you really think they will hear us knocking?" Ueda asked glancing over at Ryo.
"Probably not" Ryo answered and then started to kick the door with his right foot making Ueda flinch slightly in surprise at the sudden loud noise. A moment later the door burst open by a smiling Yamapi.
"Ah, you're back" he said grabbing a hold of their bags and letting them inside. "Finally we could get this party starting for real"
Ueda glanced around the room and noticed that everyone was there and seemed to have fun. Kame was sitting on one of the beds with Jin's arm around his shoulders while they were talking and laughing with Koki and Nakamaru. Tegoshi and Masuda were sprawled on the other bed looking through some magazines while Koyama, Shige and Junno where standing by the window.
"The booze is here!" Yamapi announced and grabbed the attention from almost everyone except from the trio by the window who didn't seem to be in a really deep conversation.
"Finally!" Jin grinned letting go of Kame and skipped over to them. "I hope you bought tequila, I'm really in the mood for a shot"
"I thought you would be" Ryo smirked and pulled out the bottle from one of the bags Yamapi was still holding. "There's nothing better than starting of a party than with a shot."
"So true, so true" Jin smiled grabbing the bottle and then peeked into the bag "You did buy lemon and salt as well I hope?"
"Did you buy any wine?" Kame asked coming up to them as well grabbing one of the bags from Yamapi to look through it.
"And vodka?" Koki asked also coming up with Nakamaru in a tow.
"We bought it all" Ryo answered with a grin. "So let's get this party going"
A few hours later the party was going strong and the noises in the room had increased. Ueda was starting to feel a bit tipsy, and he defiantly felt really relaxed as he sat on one of the beds with Ryo's arm around his shoulder. Ryo was taking part in a conversation with Shige and Masuda about gods knows what and he didn't really care about it since he just enjoyed being there with Ryo so close to him. He glanced out over the room to see what everyone else was up to and the first thing he noticed was Jin and Kame standing in the middle of the room in what looked like a passionate embrace moving slowly to the pulsing beat in the background. Had it been any other couple Ueda would probably had thought it was silly but he didn't. He found himself thinking that it was beautiful and romantic and had he been braver he would have dragged Ryo with him and mimicked Akame.
He smiled and then he let his gaze wander off from the couple and his eyes met Junno who still was standing with Koyama by the window; Nakamaru was with them. When Junno's eyes locked with Ueda the other gave him a smile so bright that it almost dazzled him. Ueda had to blink a few times to get used to the brightness of the smile. Junno laughed at something but still had his eyes on Ueda, so he had no idea if the other had laughed at him or something the others had said to him. Then Junno made thumbs up towards him and at first Ueda couldn't understand why but then he remembered the text he had gotten from Junno earlier and he blushed. Or maybe it was the alcohol he had consumed that made his face heat up in haste. He turned his head away from the smiling boy to hide his face into the crook of Ryo's neck. The smell of Ryo filled up his senses; it was a mix of alcohol, the beach and something that he couldn't really identify. Without realizing it he nuzzled his face closer to Ryo, letting the smell take him over while closing his eyes.
"Hey, are you tired already?" Ryo asked cutting of his conversation with Masuda and Shige and turned his face towards Ueda while pulling him in closer. Ueda shook his head without opening his eyes to meet the other and by that missed the smile that's spread over the Ryo's lips. He also missed the quizzical and suspicious looks that Shige and Masuda were sending them.
"Are you sure?" Ryo asked in a soft voice and started to stroke the other over the hair in an affectionate manner.
"Yes" Ueda answered in a whisper. "I just wanna be like this for a moment"
"Sure" Ryo smiled and continued to stroke the others hair. "But we should probably get some sleep soon anyways"
"Why's that?" Ueda asked feeling so at peace, and if he had been a cat he would have started to purr by now.
"Because we're having our first official date tomorrow and we should be well rested in for it" Ryo whispered his voice now so low that it was a wonder Ueda could hear it over the music. A big smile spread over Ueda's lips and without thinking of what he was doing he gave Ryo's neck a soft kiss. He smiled again but then he realized what he had done and that someone probably had noticed it and his eyes shot wide open.
He glanced up to Ryo and was met by a big grin; he turned his gaze in another direction and met the faces of Shige and Masuda who looked at him with surprise written all over them. He blushed again, or maybe it was the alcohol, either way his face heated up.
"I think I need some fresh air" Ueda said freeing himself from the arms of Ryo.
"I'll come with you" Ryo said taking Ueda's hand and pulled them both up from the bed they had been occupying. Ueda smiled slightly as he was pulled towards the door.
"Hey where are you going?" Yamapi who had been laughing around with Koki and Tegoshi asked as he noticed the sudden movement of his favorite, and as far he knew unofficial couple.
"Just getting some fresh air" Ryo answered as they both turned around to face Yamapi. "We'll be back in a while"
